in the past HHN has started the third Friday in Sept and is usually held that Saturday and then the following Thurs and Friday (I think).

Any rumours of the dates this year?

I have another question- my mom and her fiance want to go with us- I stressed to them his intense this is and sent them YouTube videos but they are still interested. Ever seen older folks enjoying this event?

how old are the parental units?
50's .......?.......

hhn has only been held for 2 sept weekends that i can remember.

it's not typical all the time.

figure it will be held for 6 weekends.
i usually see when the 31st is and if it falls with a nov date, i count backward.

Hey Mac!!

Last year, I think it started Sept 23 (which was the third Friday)- I hope it is the same this year- we are there from Sept 15-29.

Yeah...they are older than that...at the time of the event, mom will be 68 and her beau will be 70.:scared1:

I know...I have tried to warn them...told them what its like in the houses...showed them youtube videos..they still want to go (I may take my own car in case they bail)

don't know what dates will be the opening weekend at this point.
we all are waiting for that.

hopefully you will be able to attend hhn this year.
i am addicted to it.

i'm sure mom and beau will have fun there.
be sure to take your camera.....

I see people of all ages, maybe not too many over 70 but I definitely see people in their 60's.My 62 year old mom goes with me every year.

Something lured me into this thread.. I wonder what it was :goodvibes... HHN??

These are my guesses.. I have bought my air tix already.

Opening weekend:

Friday Sept. 21st and Saturday Sept. 22nd..

...and the following week would be Thursday 27th, Friday 28th Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th...

I will hopefully attend the 28th-30th..

Cheers!

I am actually depending a lot on my guesses.

My trip is from the 24th Sept to 1st Oct. Hoping that the following fall on the exact dates:

Sept. 25th - Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
Sept. 27th - Howl-o-Scream at Busch Gardens
Sept. 28th - Sept. 30th - HHN

Any chance you'll be able to attend any night during the second weekend Todd? Can't believe I'm skipping opening weekend for the first time.

Cheers!

My mom will be 77 when she doesn HHN this year. We missed it last year, but went in 2010, when she was 75. We only did one night (Friday night RIP tour). It does wear her out, but she does enjoys it.

That's good to know...my mom is very excited about it...she was talking about it today

i'm hoping that it does start on the 21st.........
sounds like more homies are planning on the earlier dates.

it does sound logical for 9/21-2 to be the opening weekend.

i refigured those dates and think if the rof is set up as last year, my dates for this year will be included in that pass.

Hi Marquibiri; could you reccomend the best night for lighter crowds at HHN please - I'm thinking a Thursday? Planning trip for 12 of us (including a 66 yr old Lizboo:goodvibes) 12th Oct - 27th Oct, needs to be a few days in as we take time to adjust to 5 hour time gain (awake early am so won't last for late nights too early in holiday:rotfl:)

As long as you avoid Hell Week, you should be ok on a Thursday. Planning on going just for one night?
I am more of an opening Weekend type of HHN fan (September).

Someone will surely pitch in about October dates.

Cheers!

OP your mum & friend could always head over to citiwalk and hang out or catch a movie if it gets too much for them.

Sorry novice of HHN; what's Hell week? The 8 'Kids' below the age of 30 will probably go for more than one night!! But we do mainly 'rope drop' starts so the 4 'Oldies' feel we're getting too old for too many late nights & early mornings:scared1:

Hell Week is usually two weeks in mid to late October when local school systems are closed which brings out all the teens to HHN. Those nights are super crowded and should be avoided if at all possible. When you see the official dates announced and you see a Wednesday night on the schedule, that will be Hell Week and lately we've had more than one. We'll see what happens this year when the new school schedule comes out.
