I too got had by horrible timeshare saleman - Westgate (no offensive to anyone who owns at Westgate but when you paid $7,000 for a property had is only worth $2,000 you feel had!!!)
So I can understand.
DVC is not like that at all - no way - no how!!!
DVC is the best!!!
they take care of their properties - there is no HARD sell - remember in 2042 or 2054 (depending upon the property) WDW gets this back -
if work needs to be done at any DVC resort - it is done.
members probably call more often about problems than just resort guests. the members want their resort to the best!!!
DVC always fixes anything that the members or guests wants done - or they have in my case. BCV had a problem with the air conditioning - first I got told it was the elevators - but it only took a second to convience the man that the problem was the air-conditioning - he couldn't fix it, he called his manager, he couldn't fix it - so they went outside of WDW to the firm that they brought these things from - they since an engineer - a part was in the wrong place.....
I don't know of any other timeshares or resorts for that matter - who would have gone to this much trouble.
DVC is much better than closing the resort - besides Cont badly needs the money to fix it up - that water problem was probably the start of some bad problems - remember the tower has the monrail running through it - they now use white sound so the guests won't complaint - but the jaring still must be hurting the structure.
DVC tries very hard to match the current resort - go look at VWL and BCV if you don't believe me - they want their resorts to look like they were planned from the beginning. I think they do an excellent job.
I think you probably need to stay at a DVC resort. You can rent points here for less money than going through CRO (or DTC). Try it once!
