Please,
no more posts telling me where I should set my expectations. I am an adult and can do that on my own.
No more speculation on 'changes' to a show that hasn't even formally rolled out yet.

Let's
wait for comments from more than one person, before we brand the show mediocre, great or poor.

In fact
ignore other peoples' comments, make up your own mind - when you have seen it in person.
I was one of the many who was supposed to be there on Opening Day back in April and yes I was very bitter at the time when they pulled the plug.
I have a small chance of this running when we're there next week and I am thrilled because I never expected it when we planned our short trip but I won't be devastated if it is not running.
Jeanne, I hope it is running when you are there, I know you got shut out in the spring
I love the staff tickets, quite a bit of effort into something that could be so simple
The entire forum is supported and kept moving by a lot of speculation and when it comes to Rivers of Light, that is really all there is to work on because NO ONE here has any solid information because those that do will not share with those who will post. If we didn't share speculation, we basically have nothing about ROL to share.
No one is telling anyone what to think or what expectations to have, just lots of sharing of the bits we are hearing. I'm not telling you what to think or do, it is none of my business .. although I'm not sure why you are telling others not to post or read information shared.
We would love to share some positives, we want to hear the CM preview is off the charts, we are waiting for those kinds of comments, we have been waiting over 7 mos for those. We will all know next week, maybe. I think we will really know once actual guests are seeing the show.
I will go in with low expectations, and that would be on Disney and their handling of this project. This has been a Project with this exact name for 9 years. 9 years. It should have been designed flawlessly in that time. They began testing well over 3 years ago in the water. They have similar shows. They announced it was done, good and ready. They had a CM preview and then POOF almost overnight they pulled it. Dead silence as if it doesn't even exist. Disney is very good at self promoting. Silence. I think there is valid reason for me to think this is not the show they promised to wow.
I REALLY HOPE THEY PROVE ME WRONG. I think everyone on here hopes that it is all they promised and more. MANY of us had our trips upended when this was a promised thing. I cancelled mine. I re-booked for later and shorter skipping AK altogether. Next trip, I heard everyone say JBA was bad, I saw it on video ... but I went on my own, not expecting much but hoping maybe I would be surprised (like I was for FEA - I like it very much, much better than Maelstrom). Well it was worse than reviews. I couldn't wait for it to be over. And knowing where I was and the technical pieces being used, that concerns me.
I also agree that ignoring is a good thing for many reasons. This forum even provides an ignore button. I do agree everyone should see something for themselves before deciding when it doesn't involve a loss. (I do listen to food reviews because I don't want to waste any more $ on overpriced bad food). Some trips are very time sensitive or people have to make choices about which night show ... so they will come to the boards and ask for help in deciding. And it will be the same, wide range of answers.
In the end we will all have different opinions on everything at Disney; hotels, transportation, restaurants, attractions, shows etc.
Many thought JBA was good, many thought nothing would have been better.
Many love the night safari, many think it is a waste of time.
Many hate FEA, I thought it was well done.
Many love Soarin', I hate they filmed it wrong and the CGI is awful.
Many are excited about park cabanas, and some are absolutely losing their minds over it.
Many are booking Tiana's Riverboat Party, many are very upset to not get their midday ride.
The list will go on for every single thing at Disney, ROL will be no different when it opens.
AND this is a
Community Board - that means we can have leeway to have opinions, humor, sarcasm, off-topics, celebrating the birth of babies and graduations, sharing of second hand info, rants, etc. We have been making lemonade of a lemon, and as always DIS is all optional.
