Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Held at the door of Akershus? So when were you let out? When they dropped the rope at Mexico? Or you were held at the doors to the attraction? Just trying to visualize exactly how this is going to work! Thx!!

We left the restaurant and they held us at the rope for the beginning of the line. We waited there until 9 then they walked us up to the doors to the ride. We watched the rope droppers reach the bridge, and saw them coming from Mexico as we went to the door :)

Thank you!!!!

Thank you!!!!

No problem! I will say that morning we did wait 15 minutes because the ride was down. However we figured waiting in the morning was probably not going to be an issue. So if for some reason it is down, relax for a few and it will be up and running. Then head to Anna and Elsa, wait was posted 45, it was only 15 minutes.

Thank you! Agree, and am totally fine waiting a bit first thing if needed!!

Sorry to hear about your hospital stay and your friend. I need to can some peaches before the season is over. I started making jam, then peach jam, a few years ago for family at holidays. So, now they expect it every year:rolleyes: Luckily, it's therapeutic, and I enjoy it.
Next weekend I am going to Louisiana to get a 25# box of peaches from Ruston to can, preserve, jam, ice cream, cobbler, etc. LOL

I got a large cantaloupe in my veggie delivery, so I think I am going to make cantaloupe jam too. I either add vanilla or mint. If you like cantaloupe, the jam is actually really good, especially in the winter when you can't get cantaloupe.

Good for you, sounds yummy.
We are driving to Disney in a couple of weeks, and we always stop in Georgia for peaches on the way home. They are so juicy and sweet, unlike the supermarket peaches that we get in my neck of the woods. The little stand in GA where we stop, also sells very tasty fried peach pies. I'm sure they are very unhealthy, but we love them anyway, besides the pies make us feel better about leaving the Disney bubble, and returning to reality.

I love a good fried pie:) Must restrain from sweets:(

Wow, I've never heard of cantaloupe jam! It's a very popular melon around here, too.

I hadn't either, but there's a recipe in one of my jam cookbooks, The Joy of Jams, Jellies, and Other Sweet Preserves by Linda Ziedrich. I love cantaloupe, but DH and DS rarely eat it. I was looking for a way to use some up. It has a nice smooth, thick consistency. It usually keeps its beautiful, bright orange color too. It's a good book, and I think she uses less sugar than most. She also doesn't really use pectin and relies upon the fruit's own pectin. The book has a lot of interesting recipes.

A friend of mine made some last year. Hadn't heard of it before that

@Cluelyss have you seen this thread about Disney holding akershus guests back from FEA?
http://www.disboards.com/threads/breakfast-adr-held-up-for-frozen.3523628/

I was reading that thread last night and noticed that the OP indicated it happened on June 29 when they were there and then another poster mentioned that it didn't happen on 7/1 when they were there. I'm wondering if it's just one of those things that they tried on a day or two to see how it worked. I remember there have been random days when people aren't let out of BOG early to get to 7DMT and have to wait until the rope drop crowds are already in the area. I think the skipping out on the breakfast ADR at Akershus just to get to Frozen early issue could be solved by making people pre-pay for that meal (including tip). But I can't imagine that there are a large number of people doing that -- certainly not enough to make a huge impact on the Frozen standby line.

Oh yes, I've seen it and if there is any truth to it I will not be happy. I'm waiting for additional reports, but I will not keep our Akershus ADR if this is a new Disney policy. Must they do everything the hard way? If they would require guests to present a receipt from Akershus it would end the drama. This would be a good policy until they offer a pre pay breakfast.

I had not seen this, thanks for posting. We are trying it tomorrow, so will report back!

Wondering if the person who started the thread was eating at GG and not Akershus? They didn't specify, and someone asked but I didn't see a reply. It's possible they thought they could bypass the inner rope at Mexico from GG, and just be allowed to wander into WS before RD? Here's hoping!!!

Good luck tomorrow!!! I'm sure it won't be a problem :)

I'm guessing that they did
not eat at Akershus, but they did have a conversation with a CM. We really won't know until we hear from Disers who've had PPO ADRs at Akershus.
