Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Ganache dessert

Are the bananas just on top or are they in the dessert too? We are eating there in July with a package. DH hates bananas but loves chocolate, and that's really the only chocolate dessert.

Forget JB and go see the real thing! Animal Kingdom begins their add on events.

Doesn't this sound an awful lot like the African Trek, with more emphasis on the eating and drinking?
Definitely similar... Seemed like they...

Added: alcohol, and more emphasis on the food

Subtracted: the behind the scenes trek part, like the bridges over crocs and look at hippo pool

Sound about right??

I suspect this is shorter. And it says "evening"... Looks like times between 4:30 and 7:30.

Stitch ate ur link.

I don't like that guy.

Thank you

YUP

yep, I agree. Love the Trek, rickety bridges, crocs, and all!

Same here!!! LOVE WAT!!

We'd probably do this one at some point too... I have too many things booked for Aug and Nov already, though!! LOL!!

DS and DD did Wild Africa Trek and LOVED IT! I timed my safari to hope to see them and we did pull right up next to their "jeep" while they were have portraits with giraffes.

THIS sounds more my cup of tea 'cause no way I could do that bridge, terrified of heights. I think there are plenty like me and since it has to be limited I imagine it could be a sell out. Hoping for AP discounts.

I booked it! There was availability for my first solo day in July, so I signed up for the 4:30 tour. I'm planning on a LONG day of all four parks - this will be my sole DAK activity before I hop over to EPCOT. Some things I learned on the phone: the tour duration is approximately two hours; no discounts are available just yet (but I can call and ask for an adjustment if they release any discounts before my date); and if the tour is canceled due to severe weather, they will reschedule you (if possible) or refund your payment.

AWESOME! I am so jealous!! When my kids did WAT they loved the food offerings and how they were presented.

YES YES YES :cool1:

I think I may be getting more excited about this than that old rumor going around the river.

Those of you that have done the dining package, where do you enter the theatre for JB? With the FP crowd, or is there a different way to get in for dining packages?

Ok you guys will probably call me crazy but I need an opinion on this. So work sent me to Orlando this year which was nice, I took the kids, we did Universal and WDW.... I was hoping they'd send me to Orlando again next year so we could possibly repeat this (and hopefully see all the new additions like FEA and AK nighttime). Anyways, they just told me to they'll send me to San Diego instead *facepalm*. So I am now debating.... do I take the kids and just do SD Zoo, Safari Park and DL OR do I splurge on airmiles and hop us over to Orlando to do WDW? I have enough miles to get all 4 of us to Orlando one way from SD and then back home from there. Torn. Really torn. I've been to DL last year for the 60th anniversary 24hr bash (nope, would never to THAT again - unless it's a non-birthday 24hr thing). My kids have never been. It's similiar enough to MK and then yet also so much different (DCA). My boys would LOVE Carsland! But then I would also really, really, really like to do AK nighttime - in hopes that ROL is finally running LOL Torn. Really, really torn. Does anyone have any advise? Going outside of work is really not an option for us though since work will cover most of my expenses so lodging and rental car and my airfare would be free for us (which covers a huge part of my expenses).

Since your kids have never been to DL, I would do that. You will get another chance to do Orlando and more stuff may be open by then with all the new stuff they are doing, like Avatar and the HS additions. Other than the Tree of life, nothing has gotten overwhelming reviews so I wouldn't miss out on the opportunity to see DL for it.

I totally agree with @dachsie!

Used to live in SD and the zoo is terrific. Also just visited DL in Jan after YEEEEEAAARS since my last trip -- first one for the kids -- and it was FANTASTIC!! So much fun to have that Disney Magic feeling, but with so many NEW things! :)

Don't shoot the messenger but there's a rumor TH is going to 2 credits. I won't believe it until it's official, just like opening dates for ROL:furious:
