Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Ok, just got off work and got caught up on here....you guys are slaying me!!! Seriously funny today!!

:offtopic:so....while we wait, and wait and wait...I have a question for you all.

I am trying to convince my sister to go with me on a trip NEXT April (2017). She's never been there:sad2: and no matter what others tell her (even her adult son!), she is really having trouble understanding. I keep telling her that unless you have been there, you just can't know what it's like. She's a skeptic. "Well, I'm not a Neverland kind of person, and I really don't get into Mickey Mouse that much...":scared1:

I know, sacrilegious, right?????

So...anyone with ideas of how I can win her over to try it? We're doing a short trip next week to visit a 90 year old family member, and will be flying - so about 3 hours each way. I plan to try to show her photos of our past trips, and tell her about how much fun we've had, but she's a bull-headed kind of personality, and if it's something that doesn't fit in her perceived way the world turns, it must not be important....HA HA HA

Help me open her eyes to a "Whole New World!"::yes::

It's hard to turn a non-Disney fan into a Disney fan. My love for Disney goes back to my childhood and my children have inherited the love also. My DH is not a fan. He is my second husband and not the father of my children. My twins were 11 when I met him and it had been just the boys and I since they were 6. We have continued our Disney vacations but he does not go. He has zero interest, but luckily he understands that my boys and I really love Disney. He doesn't get it...but he accepts it. I would love to take him someday, maybe once there are grandchildren. But for now. I continue going with my boys (who are in university now). In all honesty, his scepticism would likely ruin it for us, so I'd rather just go with my boys anyhow.
I hope you can ignite the fire in her....but don't be disappointed if you can't.

I've seen La Nouba and It disappointed me. It felt like the show was boring to me. It was a bunch of trapeeze artists and clowns. My personal preference is to do Blue Man Group on the next trip. It is much more fun experience with Comedy that worked, which is hard thing for me to get. Never figured out why most Comedy fails to engage me. It is also a fairly reasonably priced show compared to La Nouba. I payed $45 with my UOR AP.

Different strokes I guess. I love La Nouba, but Blue Man Group left me cold...just wasn't impressed.

That is awesome, I would even go to the AK just for that on my April trip! if timing worked.

It could be on one of the FT patios ...

Come Celebrate the Non-Dining Package for the Non-Preview event for the Rumors of Light!! :flower1:

With a wonderful view of the RoL water and empty seating .... might even include a sneak preview of the the work being done on the technical difficulties. We could wave to them and maybe they would wave back.

We bring LOTS and LOTS of glow sticks that we can wear and wave through the air to create our own light show!!

Kids could run with them in the air and we could all guess at what images they are making. Better yet bring lots of water misters and we spray them as the kids run through, it will be stunning ... or better than nothing.

We need some clear cups with fancy drinks and glow cubes so the show will extend to the "water" in our cups. Like a front row preferred seat.

Folks can buy FT to eat and pretend that it's a dining package but costs less than because obviously our view is the backside of water and should be discounted.

I bet we could pull this off faster than Disney could! ::yes::

PS ~ NO ADR, FP+ or CC Guarantee needed, just a sense of humor.

Omg....this is hilarious....sign me up. This had me LOL :rotfl2:

Looks like we are going hit 500 pages by tmw !!!

My 60 day window opens tonight and I'm 99.9% sure nothing will be different! Especially after the day I'm having. Im hoping everything works but would not be surprised if I ran into issues. This has been a doozy of a Monday.

T minus 5 hours and 10 minutes for us both. :)

Count me in for midnight tonight as well lol! :dancer:

Apologies. I think the correct stat should be 99.999999999%.

As you were. ;)

$4800 later I expect to slumber like Aurora. It adjusts though which is pretty sweet, and it has a massage feature lol I'm excited, just still in sticker shock. What is sad is I talked them down $1600 and it was still that much!! Obviously Disney and MattressFirm have the same strategies lately haha!
That's funny!
:offtopic: When I was 11 I stayed for the summer at my (much older) sister's house. She basically let me run amok, so I joined some city kids swim and rec club. I told everyone my name was Aurora!!! SNORT!!! I was sooooo BAD!... Of course this was way back in 1960, so nobody checked or anything, today I'd be hustled off to talk to a psychologist to find out just WHY I wanted another identity.
You just made me really really laugh out loud!
