Oh no, that stinks! Very easy to do when rushing to figure it all out! I have a similar dilemma but don't have time to write it all out before bedtime...

Ouch!!! I bet that hurt!!

Luckily I have two 7DMT FP+s booked, 1 for our first day 4/30, and 1 for our last day 5/4 -- but we're going with my daughter's best friend from preschool and her mom on 5/31 and that's the day I messed up! It wouldn't be as big of a deal to me, but after I booked our FP+ and explained what happened, she said she had never been able to get a FP+ for it! They have AP but haven't stayed onsite for 60+ day advantage. I felt so bad! I'm hoping that I can make up for it by getting a FP+ for Anna and Elsa M&G in Epcot or the FEA ride... if it is announced in time for our visit 6/1!

I did the same thing with Anna & Elsa. I swear it was 10 am to 11 am but by the time I noticed it was 10 pm to 11 pm it was too late to change it. With 4 daughters 8 and under I check everyday to try to move it up but 5 weeks later still no luck. 3 weeks to go.

Oh now I'm so sorry! I hope you catch one!

Since I've never hung around a monster thread before .... they just haven't held my interest until now .....

Does something happen when we hit 500, like is that maximum capacity?

I was wondering that too - I think at some point they need to shut it down? But we can't have a 500 page party if @elmoandzoey isn't here - I think she missed 100, or was that 200...

There used to be a hard cutoff before they changed the site. I don't believe there is now, though I hear references to "when it becomes too burdensome for the servers"... or something like that.

I figure we already are burdensome to the site, and so far we're still here...

THanks, everyone for all your great tips...I can see I need to do a bit more planning on what exactly to focus my "pitch" on next week...I have also ordered a new Planning DVD, so will try to get some ideas from that.

When we were kids, we really did enjoy doing many of the same things...but alas, as life seems to fill with many different priorities, we have grown apart, and have little that we truly share anymore, other than our childhood memories. It would be great if I could share this with her, it's not her cup of tea. But, as suggested, I'm not planning to push hard...if she's not interested, she's not interested. I sure wouldn't want her pushing on me to do something I didn't want to do.

Here are my thoughts about a possible trip:

• I was thinking of a shorter (for me, anyway) trip, 5 nights instead of my normal 7, and concentrating on a taste of everything, but focusing on what would really light her fire. Spend some time visiting the different resorts, but DS probably wouldn't be a real selling point (we have the Mall of America pretty close - it's not a hot button)
• If I could swing it, the African Trek would definitely be one thing she would really get into...
• and as for crowds, neither of us LOVE crowds, that's why we live in the sticks. But she lives even further out in the sticks that I do, so I would be conscious of avoiding the majority of WORST crowded things. And April after Easter next year should be medium crowds and prices, and great weather.
• Rides? not sure...will have to show her our photos and see what she seems interested in.
• I think she would really like the F&G displays, and going through the WS at EPCOT, too. But I'm thinking AK might be the best place to start.

I knew your ROL-Loungers would have some good ideas!!

What a lovely thing you're trying to do, sharing the love of Disney...
I hope all works out for you, but if she still really seems reluctant maybe just give up the idea. If she goes into it with a preconceived notion (Contempt prior to investigation...) you may find her truculent and angry about being there. I just wouldn't push it, it could backfire.
Let it go....
Find something else you can bond over.

1) I do believe given this is not a RESORT INFO ETC thread, but rather a serious discussion thread on the impending attraction formerly known as Rivers of Light that we should be competing in the attraction category.

2) Why would anyone willingly shut this down?

3) IF there is a page limit and we hit such limit before the Rumors of Light becomes the Rivers of Light, we are obligated contractually to continue to discuss and inform the less informed. RoL part II thread must begin.

4) Need some names in preparation, voting can be done via poll if needed. Something like:
Rivers of Light currently known as Rumors of Light FP & Dining Package Watch Thread (no breath holding allowed)!

Yeah, that is a stickler but since we have APs I never pay attention to that and forget the real price of the party. This allows me to do fuzzy math and justify the cost of all things Disney.
