Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

You only get the luggage tags with the Magic Your Way packages. Did you book that?
hmmm...under package it just says "Disney Dining Plan"...it's probably because this particular agency only does group/convention bookings rather than a regular booking...my reservation for my Nov/Dec trip does say "RMYW" package...but that was booked through a different TA that doesn't do the group stuff. That would explain it.

Happy Easter everyone!

Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare was fantastic, the best character breakfast I think I've ever had! The food was really good for a buffet, especially the create your own omelet station and the bread pudding with vanilla sauce. It was my first time trying strawberry soup and I don't think I'll be trying that again! I'm trying to forget the fact that I paid $20 for DS3 to eat some grapes, strawberry yogurt, and a Mickey waffle.

The characters were awesome too. We saw Winnie the Pooh and Tigger about 5 different times and we were only there an hour. Mary Poppins sat down at the table with us and cut DS's Mickey waffle up for him. DS bought 2 little matchbox cars to breakfast, and Alice and the Mad Hatter were racing them on the floor. I got down on the floor to take a photo and when I struggled to get back up (because STILL NO BABY) the Mad Hatter heaved me up and told me I'd clearly had too much breakfast with such a round tummy!

Anyone, sorry to be off topic but I wanted to give a quick review for those thinking of going!

Sounds like so much fun! Thanks for sharing your experience. I can't wait for our breakfast there during our trip!

My sister and I are trying 1900 for breakfast on our upcoming trip! We hadn't planned it but found an 8:20am ressie on a MK morning a week or so ago so we knew we'd be in the GF area, apparently we have been before but back when we were really young, she's 2 years older so she remembers it vaguely but I don't at all, really happy now that we snagged that ressie! :)

"That agency" also does regular magic your way packages where you get the luggage tags. When you book one of their "deals" then it is not booked as a magic your way and so you don't get the luggage tags or the coupon book that includes things like the free mini golf. I use them all of the time and while the new luggage tags look really cool, I can't pass up the savings that I am getting!

that would be it then....we got an incredible deal, saved $$ with the two rooms, and were able to add dining for all, and tickets just for the other three, since I had my AP. Not sure I could have done that with a MYW resv. For the Nov/Dec trip for 2 of us, we got just the room and the PH tickets, which I may again upgrade to AP (expires in October) when I get there...not sure yet. But that one does have the MYW description on the resort details area.

Would you consider Early Check in a higher priority over the other amenities? I have requested higher floor and near transportation, but we'll be arriving early. Thus far, we have been able to get into our room early except the 1 time I requested it, lol. That was at POR.
ETA: This time we are staying at AoA.

How early are you arriving??? When we stayed in a Lion King suite at AoA last June, I requested 4th Floor, Close To Transportation. I also indicated that early check-in was a priority. We indicated we'd be there at 11:00 a.m. I got a text around 10:00 a.m. with our room number. We got our other two requests as well. I wasn't overly concerned about our room location because we feel like both Landscape of Flavors and transportation are a short walk from any room in the LK area -- so it didn't matter to us if early check-in overrode those requests. If we were staying in a cars suite or a LM room, I'd have to think about it for awhile because I would not want to override the "close to transportation" request just to get an early check-in time. I know it's not 100% fool-proof, but it does seem like the majority of people who do online check-in and request the early check-in still get their other requests as well. Again, not everyone -- but many.

Since we are not the topic of early check in, I think I will check that box when I do mine. I'm booked preffered at POR and while I've requested building 14 on my reservation, it's not that huge a deal. All preffered rooms are in a good location. I planned on Checking upper floor and corner room, but again, not a huge deal. Getting into my room early is more important to me.

Thank you! Those are our 2 requests as well. We will be arriving around 11:00 also.
