Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

We have plans to be at Ohana for dinner that night (our absolute favorite) and if we switch our plans, we'd do ROL that night & just adjust our dining credits accordingly in lieu of Ohana. Not sure what we'd do, since we planned some time at MK that night and our trip is only 4 days so I'd need to figure it out.

This is more of a pain than I thought hahaha

I spoke to a CM an hour ago who stated that they had the ROL dining packages and fast passes all ready to go and had a glitch so they postponed them. I asked specifically "have they postponed Rivers of Light show or just the packages". She replied that it was just the packages and they were hoping to have everything fixed soon. I currently have an ADR for TH on 4/23 and I asked her if I could switch it to a dinner package. She said to call direct and they would be able to do it over the phone. I then asked here when she suggested for me to call back and she said in the next 2 days. Who knows if that is actually true but thought I would share what she said.

I'm really sure the word of a postponement is unconfirmed. Not that it's bad you went on and made your plans of course. I wouldn't do it based on the 1 report we've gotten.
It's been driving me crazy that I hadn't gotten my fps yet, though my 60 days had long passed. I've been waiting for the hours change to finalize everything (it makes a difference in what time we arrive based on park hours) and had left myself open for a possible 2 (very slim maybe 3) days I could flip flop. I don't like having multiple ADRs knowing someone else would love to have them but I don't know which park I'll be at on which day. I was fortunate the ADR for TGG at Epcot was still available for the 2nd day, even though I cancelled it last night. I don't like having loose ends. If it wasn't for the fact that my DGD starts school in the fall, and it may be a while before we all get back to WDW, I'd say the heck with it and just catch it in September when DH and I do a couples trip.

Thanks for the update....sounds promising anyway...both postponed as the other folks have said they were told, but should be fixed soon. At least that's something.... ;)

I haven't seen anything about postponing ROL. Maybe MamboJunkie can clarify
I'm so sorry to drop the post on you and not come back to it. Someone later clarified what I was referring to, but when I posted I was at the doctor's office with DH, and I had to come back for recovery, then pick up so there was a lag in when I could get back here.

Guys I can't decide if we should rope drop AK on an 8 am EMH day, afternoon break back to cabin (~12 pm for 4-5 hrs) and return for TH dinner and AK night activities or arrive late in the afternoon and stay til RoL.

We will have my MIL/FIL and DD turning 5 with us. We have a stroller but will only bring second half of the day if we do the afternoon break.

We're staying at Ft Wilderness cabins and planning to drive to AK.

The other day's plans are:
Arrival) No park, swim, campfire at Ft Wilderness campground
1) MK pre-park BOG, break after FoF parade, back in the evening. Park closes at 12, so staying until we're exhausted lol.
2) Epcot -- not arriving until 11:30 for 12:15 Akershus ADR. Return whenever.
3) AK day???
4) HS day -- arrive around 12, stay until Fantasmic.
5) MK rope drop until we want to leave; 3 hr drive home.

I know a lot depends on if we can get a TH package and when but not having a general idea is killing me. Lol.

Edit: I realize this should be it's own seperate thread--sorry!!

Fast pass would be nice, I don't like doing the dining packages. My dd is over 9 but eats like a bird and does not like adult menus yet. But if we get a dining package we have to pay adult prices.

I always plan my days in full: ADRs, FP+, etc. even if I'm waiting for a bunch of things. I build in some duplicates and/or some spots where I could plug in the new thing if it does materialize. It would drive me INSANE not to have some FP+ held once I hit my 60-day mark! But I'm a little nuts that way, I guess... o_O

I've had everything ready to go for a couple of weeks...we're at day 40 now...when they hyped the ROL, with dining, and FP possible, I switched a lot of things around, but mainly left one night free - FP for AK during later in the afternoon, and hoping to switch to night time safari and ROL, or a dining package if that is available...if they would ONLY be nice enough to release them! :surfweb:

We love love love Animal Kingdom early in the morning! Seriously I just love the peacefulness of it. I am sure it will be awesome at night but a different experience at the same time.

I can do my fast passes tomorrow at midnight. I truly hope they had FP available. I will try for a dining package, but if I can get a FP, I will drop the package.

Urgh, Parks Blog is getting on my last nerve today. I have my phone set to notify me when they post something. It's gone off like 5 times. I feel a little rush of adrenaline till I read it

Same. I have alerts too and I'm watching for ROL and MNSSHP dates o_O

You mean you guys didn't appreciate the DPB tweet informing us that we could "Savor natural beauty & rustic charm in Montana with Adventures by Disney"?!?!?! :rolleyes1

Well, our first trip when the kids were little, we had breakfast at O'hana, and Stitch stole my coffee, so frankly, I know what he's capable of. My kids still talk about that!

Oh Stitch and his coffee!! He tried to take my dad's carafe one time and discovered it was empty. He shook it, then turned it upside down and looked at us with his hands in a "WHA---??" position. My dad said "It's my fault, Stitch! I drank it all." And Stitch gave him a "talk to the hand" gesture. We lost it.

Memories like that are what keeps me from cancelling my 'Ohana breakfast ADR though I keep pondering it.
