Just checked "Animal Kingdom Special Activities" and it's still unclickable. Interestingly enough, the photo beside it isn't showing up for me anymore. Oh and I saw the "Magic Kingdom Special activities" under dining, too. Unclickable and no photo beside it. Just FYI.

I'm not sure that I noticed this previously, but each park has a similar special activities box under dining that is not clickable. Hmmmm?????

I had a thought about this. If I can explain it

The Wishes FP disappeared from the list of FP starting about the same dates as these AK events start
I wonder if they plan to not only announced new AK viewing events but also a dining event at MK for Wishes, using the now former FP area for the viewing area

You've just read my mind. I have also been wondering about this.

Yes, similar thought. My family was a good portion of the 30 guests who got their wishes FP+ cancelled after April 18th once Disney made that late breaking move. There is much speculation about that cancellation and whether they intend to change dessert party, do a dining event, staff cut backs or staff reshuffling bc of ROL on another thread.

But, I checked this morning and DHS has the same special activities box. Epcot World Showcase has a similar one as well (doesn't say special activities but everything else is same).

Starting around Sept 29, 2015, coordinating tags were shipped with magic bands under the grey cardboard insert of the box. They are for package bookings, dining plan not necessary.

We might have gotten them for the October trip - but I had a trip also in Dec - booked this time with a magical TA - no bands. Maybe don't get them for this type of reservation? Our next trip is end of April - full package - not a magical reservation - we should get them for that one.

Called dining this morning to see if RoL packages available yet and was told to keep checking the park blog for release info

I just find it difficult to believe with Disney's history of MDE site failure for every rollout they've had that they would only open the reservations at the announced time

It would and it would give them additional funding to cover the costs of staffing the area. FP area free but a dining event would come with an up charge

They do it in CA for F! And WOC so it could well work at MK too

Change the category to Dining

I would actually like this. I wouldn't use a fastpass on Wishes, but if I was already planning to eat dinner at MK and am on the dining plan...it would be great to be able to do the dinner package and have reserved viewing for Wishes. There are plenty of places to get a good view of wishes without a fastpass which is why I wouldn't use a fastpass on it, but this would be a game changer lol...though...I think it would only be worth it money wise if I have the dining plan.

We don't have any TS dinners planned in MK, but we have a Crystal Palace breakfast. It would be interesting to see, if they go the dining package route, what restaurants and meals would be included.

I feel the same way about Illuminations, especially with the FP tiering at Epcot

I wouldn't mind it. While I do like using a FP for Wishes I'd also do a dining package since I'm going to eat TS anyway.

There are lots of places to view Wishes but none are even half as good as the FP area unless you arrive over an hour early. We arrive in the FP area 5 min early. Totally worth it for that alone. I guess I got one of the last dates of FP for our April trip.
