Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

When I check the WDW site, it's usually from my laptop. I just tried to check using the MDE app and the placeholder for ROL does not show up for me. I'm using an iPhone...is that normal or do I need to be worried about not being able to see it when/if () it gets released?
 
Just called and spoke to 2 CM
First CM checked and it still says opening on the 22nd (same as in the HUB) no additional info on opening but it still shows that fp will be available, she said to check tonight at midnight, that it may open but she wasn't sure she transferred me to a 2nd CM to check dinning packages, she said nothing for packages the last email they got was the postponement on March 11 on the packages...I pressed to check about opening date and she said the preview was postponed but that it should still open on the 22nd
Would be nice if they did AK's Hours and ROL's Times before midnight!
 

In my case contacting guest service helped tremendously. Guest services called me in Germany and contacted their outside vendor that I had a problem with. Said vendor then send me a nasty email why I went through Disney which I again forwarded to guest services. Guest services called me again and suddenly, my whole issue with that vendor was resolved. Without guest services, I had gotten nowhere with that vendor. After guest services got involved the second time, I had my money back within a day. I guess it depends on what issue you bring to their attention?

So glad to hear you finally got this resolved! I hope Disney reconsiders recommending that vendor going forward.

I think that is true. It really is a case by case basis on who you should contact. For something like rivers of light or say you are upset and are cancelling a trip because of it I'd contact some of those higher up than guest services.
 
did anyone get the same story from the CMs on the resv line about FP+ maybe being available tonight...the one I talked to gave me the same "keep calling, check the blog" line.
 
LOL, my husband is getting whiplash from trying to follow my emotions for ROL news. He doesn't care about it so much, but he knows I'm invested - I got bummed out about conflicting info again this morning so he started sending me baby fox pictures to cheer me up. Then I saw the new splash page on Disney's main site, and made a noise that probably made his ears bleed! The excitement is way too real, and I'll probably have an ulcer by the time we arrive on the 22nd.
 
I do find it interesting that the FEA page already mentions that fastpass will be available but ROL does not. I wonder if that means FP will not be an option for ROL when it first opens.
 
Grayson James was born at 9.58pm weighing 7lbs 13oz. We're both fine and I officially found something more painful that waiting for RoL info!

If you are going to guest services to complain that Rivers of Light isn't opening fast enough, and you are cancelling your trip because of it, then you might get some commiseration, but Rivers of Light probably won't open any faster. It's a different thing from getting one's money back from a vendor.
 
I had a dream last night that I left the perfect blog comment pertaining to ROL that made it through moderation. Woke up so proud of myself, but now I can't remember what it was. LOL. This is clearly getting to me!
I've been having ROL-related dreams lately, as well! Was restless all night because my dreams were about reserving dining packages!! :scared:
