Rumors are True. Roy Cancelled CP

I booked the CP for Friday night to hear Roy and to kick off my WDW trip, but after hearing rumors that he was cancelling, I just called WDW Dine and they confirmed it. She told me that he recently had surgery and would not be able to travel. Edward James Olmos is replacing him. Bummer. I mean no offense to Mr. Olmos though. Have decided to switch it to another night. This way I don't have to rush from the airport to the resort then over to EPCOT to get to my PS on time. Just have to rearrange a couple of days.

Just got a call from Disney Dining regarding my change of my CP package. She asked me where I learned about Roy Disney cancelling and whether I saw it on Pete's site! She said that she had been monitoring both this site and Deb's to see if the word was getting out regarding this and knew it had with the amount of calls they were receiving from people wanting to change. She also said that people with CP packages for these 3 days can either change to another day (depending on availablility) or cancel completely without penalty and for a full refund, if so desired.

I hope he gets better soon. I know many guests booked it just for him. Hopefully, we'll see him next year instead.

Sorry to hear about this. I know it can be disappointing when you plan to see someone and they are replaced suddenly.
