Rumors about 5th park picking up speed

The rumored "Villians Park" rumors have been confirmed, but not officially.

Out in Florida, Disney finally announced plans for a fifth theme park within Walt Disney World. It won't open for several more years, but the company finally dusted off the plans for the villains-themed amusement park that has been part of cyberspace chatter for ages.

This park has been rumored for well, the last 10 years, but with rumors of a disney stock sellout, an "insider" has said that WDW plans to build this new "action" park to compete with Universal's Harry Potter park which should open around '09-10.

i dont think this will be a good idea. i dont think there'd be magic kind of like mgm o wat ever you want to call it. Sure its disney but take out the mouse and what do u have? nothing of interst mayb a few rides. I think disney should become more family orented again.

Exactly. Where are you going to fit Mickey into a villian's theme park? I think it's cool that there is going to be a possible 5th park, but maybe make a disney aquarium or something?

I actually like the idea of focusing on the Villians.
There's really not much to do with them except for that Villain themed shop, which isn't really that great to beging with.
And you can fit Mickey in.
Kind of like a Fantasmic type thing, only different (of course) because they already have Fantasmic.

I like the idea.
I enjoy the villains in other aspects of the parks.
But, the thing is.. it won't be really good for kids. There are kids that are mortified of certain villains. My friend used to have this huge fear of the witch in Snow White.
Some of the villains are somewhat not too scary (like Cruella, I don't find her scary) but some of the villains really scare little kids.

It sounds like a nice idea, I can't wait to see what Disney does with the idea.

That article is pure speculation. It's fiction about what the author thinks might happen in 2009-2010. Don't take it seriously until there is a more credible source.

I think this would be a popular idea among the teen-adult crowd. The younger kids may not be a fan. When I was younger I wouldn't go on anything after I had been scared of it once. It took me like 7 years before I would go back on Haunted Mansion. I think if they have a good conquers evil kinda thing included, much like Fantasmic does, it'll end up well.

Maybe an expansion to DHS could do the same thing?

I haven't ever seen that movie and I think it's also overrated, so I have no need to see it.

Honestly, that movie creeps me out. Some of it is ok, but it just doesn't say Disney to me.

I saw it and still think it's over-rated. It's cute and all, but not amazing.

Where's the Disney in A Nightmare Before Christmas? and if you're going to do a villain park I think it would be important to have a good and a bad half, on one side have all the heroes on the other have all the villains, where the two halfs meet you could even have the heroes and villains battling it out in statues and scenery and then gradually it goes from one half into the other half and you go from the hero side into the villain side or vise versa. Let's face it there are more hero vs. villain rivalrys than just mickey and the fat dude (cant remember the name). I think if it's done right Disney could really go far with a not a villain park but a hero-villain park
