Rumor! Rumor! Rumor!

Most large hotel corporations, including Disney, do room rehabs on a 5 to 7 year rotating basis. Imagine staying in a room that hasn't had a facelift in 10 years.........especially with the volume of guests a place like WDW has? No thank you

As boomersmom asked, does anyone have a general idea about how long the rehab will go on. Just as I decided that Boardwalk was a great second choice (since AKL is pretty much out), now I find out this.... hopefully I'll be in nice new rooms next year! :teeth:

I have heard ESPN moving from the Boardwalk to DQ. DQ will close down sometime next year (2007) and ESPN will take over the DQ building.

My guess - Disney gets more rent and ESPN gets more guests to visit them since they will be located in a more open public area.

Maybe that would have to do with the Boardwalk rehab.

The last I heard was that an ESPN Zone, not the ESPN Club would open somewhere in DD, possibly in the DQ building if that shuts down. I did not hear anything about the ESPN Club at Boardwalk shutting down.

The boardwalk vilas had a total relay of the carpets a few years ago, but this was due to a fault in the carpets not paid for by dvc but the contractors
