Hello,
My wife and I were in a Disney Character outlet that opens seasonally in Roseville last week. My wife said she overheard someone say that the Muppets in 3D attraction in California Adventure is closing. Has anyone else heard this? It would be a shame for that attraction to leave. I always found it fun and entertaining.

I actually just returned from the park and last Sunday was the last day it was opened. It's down right now for rehab. I haven't heard that it is closing for good tho!

it was scheduled to be completely gone but due to the problem with the "suppose" new attraction not being able to fit well in the building, the new attraction was scraped and Muppets 3D will stay until further notice.

I hope they dont take it away! I love muppets, gosh i wish i was there right now,...

The new concept was to do a Narnia 3-D show there I believe. But I also heard there were some issues with the new idea so they kind of just stuck a pin in it until something new came up.

I personally love  the Muppets show. I think replacing it would be such a mistake!

Whoa, what?? I went on Saturday last week to see that show. You mean to tell me I saw it the day before its last day (for refurb/tear down/whatever)??

Wow. That's crazy. I had no idea!

Also the DCA "Blue Sky" preview center shows Kermit occupying that location, so it sounds like there are no planned changes.

When we were there in Oct. it was sparsely attended. Same last year, too. I think it's a great show (though I do find the little 3d guy annoying sometimes). My kids absolutely loved it! I think one of the problems is that today's kids don't really know the muppet characters that well, which is a shame. The Muppet Show was so well done and entertaining--wish they would bring it back (or something similar).

It kind of seems that they were trying to bring back the Muppets a little with the Studio DC: Almost Live show on the Disney Channel. It was fun - it mixed Muppet characters with the major Disney Channel tween stars (Jo Bros, Miley, and the Sprouse twins). But they only just one episode I think. I would love to see a Muppet comeback! My kids love kermit, because I have always loved Kermit!

We just saw it last Tuesday, so it looks like Sunday was not the last day. It was actually the first time we saw it and thought it was really cute. I am not sure why we skipped it every trip...wierd.:3dglasses

Cool! We haven't seen this yet (in our 4 previous visits to DL), and it sounds like something our kids would get a kick out of! :thumbsup2

I saw that they were going to try to put in Mickey's Philharmonic like WDW but the building could not support it

Hmm... Sounds like it might be a good idea to rent a Muppet movie (or episodes of the show if we can) before the trip. My youngest is a huge fan of Elmo and knows many of the Sesame Street characters, but not all the ones on the Muppet Show.

Some of the characters in the show include: Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, Rowlph the Dog, Sam the Eagle, Rizzo the Rat, Animal, the Swedish Chef, Scooter, Beeker, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Statler & Waldorf, and Sweetums... just to name a few. :lmao:

Whoa I sure hope they dont close the Muppets down. I always felt that the muppets never got much love seeing the place empty compared to other shows. I personally love the muppets and especially watching them when growing up and seeing the movies along with the tv shows:happytv: I always thought they were awesome .

When I was in NYC in September, the NY Times had a front-page article on Disney and the Muppets in its Arts and Leisiure section. I never read the whole article, but I have the section still.

What I did take from the article though is Disney wants to do a lot of things with the Muppets: New movies which may bring back the Muppet Show, and there was mention of new rides in the parks!

I'm really hoping so, 'cause as much as I love Disney, I'm much more of a Henson fan.

As for the attraction at Muppets 3D, I had heard it was supposed to be Philharmagic, but the theater wasn't the right size. Hadn't heard about Narnia before.

BTW, I don't see any mention of the Muppets being closed right now... I really hope it isn't: I arrive on Saturday for my birthday and it would be a bit of a bummer to go Muppetless.

update the muppets show in DCA and add Micky's Phillar Magic to the stage where Honey we shrunk ourselves or whatever it's called it. That show is majorly outdated and needs something new. When i saw Micky's Phillar show I immediately felt it would work in Disneyland... please ooh please powers that be get rid of the Honey show..I'd even go for a princess show anythinng...

The problem with that is HISTA is in Tomorrowland...not exactly the proper place for Philharmagic.

If Philharmagic were to be put anywhere in Disneyland, I think it would be great in Toontown. They could build like a Toontown Concert Hall or something and put it in there. Unfortunately, I don't know if they have the space for that. :confused3

That said, mind you I never saw the event, but did America Sings ever really belong in Tomorrowland?
