Starting April 6, all FastPass tickets will be on one time system for both parks -- no more holding a FastPass in each park. Bummer!

I saw this on Twitter from @tonytt25 (Disneyland Periscope is his Twitter 'Name'), who has been pretty accurate in the past about these types of things.

Well, that stinks.

I wonder if you could still grab a RSR FP for the evening and get a DL FP after the 2 hour window?

Not shocked by that at all. I figured that was coming with electronic fastpass.

Still curious to see how the show fastpasses play into this.

I think this should still be possible.

I am also curious, but I don't see that changing. The only thing that makes me think it MIGHT change is that 'show' FPs aren't 'disconnected' at Disney World -- you have to use one of your 3 for the day on them. I don't know.

Our first trip is next week, and I read online that the Frozen show and World of Color aren't linked to anything else. Is this true?

You are correct, World of Color is not linked to anything else. However the Frozen show hasn't been using fastpasses for a few months now!

Thank you! Is there anything else that isn't linked? I know Buzz was, but that changed in the past few weeks.

Right now, for things that are actually using FastPasses and currently showing, World of Color is the only FastPass not connected.

If I had to bet, I'd say it won't change. But that's not the case at WDW so it certainly makes me wonder.

WDW requires the 3 initial FPs to be used, before a 4th can be booked. Booking Fireworks (or any nighttime show), effectively limits a guest to 3 FPs for the day. The WDW FP viewing areas are a small percentage of the overall viewing space, unlike DL FP viewing for WOC and F! (where a FP is required).

I feel bad for all the people that won't have read about this and will run all the way from one park to the other and then be unable to get a FP! It's going to mess up a lot of touring plans until word gets out since the "disconnected parks" tip is given out so often...

When they started enforcing return times they put signs on all of the FP machines. If they put signs on the machines or print it in the park guide, and people still try to hop between the parks thinking they'll be disconnected, I won't feel bad for them.

Honestly? I doubt it will have much impact. Maybe RSR will last a smidge longer. But I doubt the number of people willing to hoof it back and forth was that big. And most people probably didn't even know you could.

Agreed. I've known about this, yet I don't think I've ever held a fastpass for both parks at the same time. I just don't park hop that much.

We always have hoppers, but try to stay put as much as possible. The hoppers help for seeing shows and such, but I think the only time we hopped for a FP was once or twice to do RSR at night. This change doesn't bother me. Although, I doubt I'll be a big fan of the electronic system overall once it gets going. I still contend that once people start using it, FPs will run out much faster, prompting them to add FP to more attractions.

I've hard a rumor that they are planning a big rehab of Fantasyland as soon as Star Wars opens. It makes me wonder if they'll try to squeeze FP into more of those attractions.

I think the biggest piece of this remains to be seen. That's how they handle it with APs. If they include it in the price of certain AP's that's going to have a huge impact. If they charge a big upgrade to add it to APs, it likely won't be very popular.

Stay tuned.
