I've heard certain rumors that the "It's a Small World" ride at Walt Disney World has been taken down and will never be at WDW again. I was wondering if anyone had heard that or if it is true.

It was there last week!!!

Rats!!

(I hate that ride ever since getting stuck in it for 30 minutes and had to pull ourselves out BY HAND!!)

Well I for one am glad that's an unfounded rumor. Whew! I was going to go bonkers if IASW was closed/taken down. :D

30 minutes? That's nothing ;). Last time we went, my 3 year old daughter sang the dreaded song, seemingly non-stop for the next 2 weeks.

You think that's bad? My husband loves this ride and the last he went, HE sang the song the whole time we were there. But at least he didn't do it for two weeks. :p

The more I look at the dolls, the more I see thousands and thousands of little Chuckie dolls. Then the nightmares start that night: I'm stuck in the attraction and all the dolls turn into Chuckies and start attacking the boats, killing all the guests - - I tell you, it's absolutely horrible .... and the music is playing and playing and playing .... HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!

I always liked the Simpsons version:
"Duff beer for me
Duff beer for you
I'll have a Duff
You have one too!"

Nope, It's A Small World is alive and well and living in Fantasyland. I think this is one rumor that will never be substantiated.

STILL ALIVE TOO BAD I CAN'T GO ON THAT RIDE EVER AGAIN . THE 64 WORLDS FAIR WAS THE LAST TIME AND I STILL CAN'T GET THAT #@%%& SONG OUT OF MY HEAD,ALTHOUGH MY DW KEEPS TRYING TO GET ME ON IT

I am glad it's a rumor too. It was closed for repairs the first time we took the boys and I was livid!!! I love that ride!

Having ridden the Disneyland version (the original) a month ago, and the WDW version a few days ago, I was amazed at how different the rides are. The WDW version seems to consist mostly of the small dolls with a few other animals, while the orignal version seems to have a much more imaginative design and far fewer of those anonymous singing dolls!
Anyone else notice this?

I agree and I also like the entrance at Disneyland better as well, when I first went there after having only been to WDW I honestly didn't even realize it was the same ride until we got inside.

I grew up with the Disneyland version so when I went to WDW for the first time in 1996 I was amazed at the differences. The colors on the exterior of the WDW version were so...extreme. The interior was nicer looking though with the water filling the sets instead of it just beinf a trough. The ending scene is much better at WDW too but the first view of the exterior was ...shocking!
