Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

TimTracker just posted a bunch of pictures on Instagram and it shows plenty of “please stand here” stickers on the ground. Perhaps the don’t stand here ones were only for a specific location?
All I know is that whoever is in the sticker/signage business is making a mint this past month and going forward. I have never seen so much signage on floors of retail and grocery stores.

Didn't we just establish that people stick their mouths under ice cream dispensers on cruise ships and pull the handle?
For those folks, no amount of signage or directions will help. Your average 5 yr old should be able to figure these out though. Understanding and doing are two different things.

Don’t stand here probably works better with different sized groups of people like Disney will have vs stores and such that are more likely to have smaller parties (or just singles) in line.

I agree though, it’s going to confuse people.

Oh yeah! I'm the person who when I'm walking and a bicyclist behind me says "on you're right", I move to my right. :rotfl:

Here we stand in the box for social distancing.

Guarantee, every-time I will stand in that box. Even though I'll understand what it says, my mind will move me to stand in it and Micky will have to pull me out of it the same way he moves me out of the bicyclist's way.
:D

This reminds me of how many times someone saved my life when I spent a year in the UK during college and, despite understanding the rules of the road in the UK, I would still look left last and take a step into traffic. Kind strangers would just grab my jacket and haul me backwards. Instinct is hard to override!

Tomorrow, at 11 am, @yulilin3 will be live streaming from Disney Springs through a FB account she has set up specifically to share Disney/UO info:
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008669016411
You don't have to be FB friends to watch the live stream.

I'm hoping to escape from Zoom meetings and be able to watch the resort activities CMs engaging with everyone.

My germaphobe soul can see little glitches in the way this could possibly go wrong at Disney Springs but it is impressive. I didn't know if they could pull it off.

My squeamishness is going to be the hand-held thermometers and people touching everyone's bags for security. I don't want the thermometer to accidentally touch my face or to wonder about someone's germs on my bag.
Has anyone mentioned what they will do about fingerprint scanners?

There was been no announcement on procedures at the parks, but universal had hand sanitizer before the finger scan and right after, before the parks were closed

Disney springs is so small scale compared to opening a theme park.

You also spend maybe a few hours in Disney Springs when its not all even open. A theme park people spend all day and multiple days in. It's a good test , but very small scale to opening a theme park.

Our trip was supposed to be our second trip as a family, and the first trip our youngest will actually remember as she was 1 the first time we went. It is technically her celebration of starting Kindergarten in the Fall. Because of that my top 5 would be.

1) Masks being required ~ Totally understand why this is necessary and do not disagree with them being needed, but I want to see the joy in my kids faces, and I don't want them to have their Disney memories be covered in masks. Masks might be part of their normal for awhile in "real life," but I don't want it to be a part of their magical Disney trip. We will simply wait until they are (hopefully) not required anymore.
2) M&G's being eliminated or significantly altered ~ The kids are at the M&G age and that is a huge part of our trip.
3) No Fireworks, parades, or night shows ~ Easily one of our favorite parts of Disney
4) No TS or Character Dining in particular ~ Same reason as M&G's
5) No Pools ~ Florida summer, enough said.
Same here! Our youngest was 1 last time we went - and will start kindergarten this year as well! Your list is perfect for our family!

Nobody is making you go, if it is that bothersome, then stay home.

You are right but hey it’s a start. And they have made a very good attempt to allay fears and address issues.
very good that some people can getback to work and people in FLA have aomeplace to go that is taking the safety measures seriously
Personally we don’t frequent DS the last few times we went. Just not our thing. Had some bad meals over there so maybe that’s why. I liked it better when I was a kid and it was called Lake Buena Vista. The old Empress Lilly was amazing.
