Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

You cant really say it "seems needless" for any social distancing otherwise it becomes vague on where it is needed and isnt. Best to just apply it everywhere.

Plus assuming the reopening is dependent on government placing responsibility on companies to demonstrably implement social distancing to reopen and remain open they just wont be able to say "we didnt think it was needed here". Especially in tourist hotspots like Disney where everything is photographed and put on social media.
Right, it's not just about saying things or posting signs like 'you have to wear a mask' or 'stand six feet apart' it's about managing and enforcing it. Not saying it's impossible, but if you leave people to personal responsibility or personal opinion then we know what will happen. Luckily Disney has some of the brightest minds in creativity, business and leadership on their side and I do believe they will handle this better than anyone in a way that makes the most sense, and in a timeframe that balances both reopening ASAP and taking the virus seriously.

Yes of course it would book quickly if everything would be normal. That was the point of my comment. I personally think it's too much for a reduced experience. I don't know why that isn't clear. But whatever, let's move on.

I think most people here either have the disposable money or lack the financial understanding of whats going on in the world. Would they have paid $300 during the financial crash? Data would show us most didnt.... and this is going to be worse when all the pieces are picked up.

Maybe these boards are a subset, but Disney is going to struggle selling values at 100 forget abiht deluxe.

They could easily turn around and cancel them. Why I said all along it was mistake to encourage booking so early. There is going to be a lot of upset people, especially ones who are expecting the normal Disney experience.
I guess I don't understand why people would be that upset. They made the call to close indefinitely in what, late March? So in March data showed perhaps June 1st would be the soonest they could open. Knowing that the public wants to go ASAP (and looking at this board they'd be right) they allowed bookings the soonest they thought possible. But with every passing week, the data changes, so they must adjust. If WDW feels they cannot openly safely by 6/1, then people who want to throw a fit about that are just in denial about reality. This isn't like they're doing a refurb and keep missing deadlines, they have little control here.

I’m am beyond amazed that a CM would reveal such detail as well. Wrong or right, unless they‘ve been authorized to give out that info, they shouldn’t. I appreciate you sharing what you were told, but I’ll believe it when I see it from an official source.

Why would Epcot open last? It tells nothing.

I state that because that is what he said. I just talked to him again because he came back on the line saying my OTU points have been refunded to my card. This time, I "may have had" my skype on to remember verbatim what he said. AND HE REITERATED THAT he does not suggest a reservation before June 15. MK will be the ONLY PARK OPEN. and MK resorts would be the only resorts open. I mean you can call and see if someone will give you more information. I am just trying to help not hinder. Geez, why would i make any of this up???? I had a great vacation planned at Copper Creek that I won't be able to take this summer. BTW, he did say that he expected to have relatively normal opening by August.

And he works for DVC? How does he propose they will get around the fact that all DVC resorts will need to open when the ban is lifted?

This is a "Rumors" page. I am only relaying the information that I am getting from this cast member. I lost out here too. But, the information he has given me resolution. My May trip is busted and even if i had rescheduled for June, it would not have happened either.

I don't know why he was so specific in that. He said something about construction, but that was at the beginning of the call and I didn't have my skype on to go back and listen to that part. Please, if you know anything any different let us all know. This is a rumors page and I thought the information the CM gave me was very detailed and needed to be passed on to fellow travelers.

I think we can assume no F&W this year, so it makes sense for Epcot to remain closed. I didn't want to think that would ever happen, but here we are.

I have a reservation booked for the end of September and He said that should be good. He said Epcot would be the last to open. He also said that full opening would be late in the Summer.

I am sure that someone on Disboards know a CM who must have the same information that the phone CM gave me. I really wish they would pipe in and either collaborate of deny my previous post.

I'm not shocked or anything. But I would be upset if the reopened the 15th witth onky MK from the standpoint that I had a Free Dining trip booked (way back in Jan) for the end of June/early July. We would either have to fly 2000 miles to spend 8 days going to one park only, or lose out on our reservation, preticket increase prices, and free dining because we wouldn't even be eligible for the "free dining rebook offer" since they would be no longer "closed".
That sucks, because not only is there disney trip disappointment, but then theres not even any incentive or compensation. Just "come and deal with our terms or lose everything". And that sucks.

I know a CM. They told me yesterday their boss told them Disney is closed for the rest of 2020.
just saying, this illustrates the game of CM telephone that too often happens.
