Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Their hotels aren’t exactly Ramada in the middle of nowhere prices. Yes, some people gojust to be on property and stay at their hotel the entire trip, but a majority pay the top dollar pricing of their hotels to go to the parks.
Our FL peeps better get on booking those Pop staycations before they’re all gone!

See: DAS program. Disney looked in depth at how to walk that line, yep people will lie and get by with it, nope they won’t pursue it. Too expensive.

LOL Shanghai exception, as if the mask requirement is Disney’s decision. The entire city of Shanghai is required to wear masks by the government. Disney is following local government regulations. You DO NOT say no to the Chinese government.
Disney appears to be requiring masks for DS opening, and doubt that has anything to do with the Chinese government. Or am I misreading your post?

They are not going to require them of people with health issues in the US. There will be exceptions. Or they’ll be sued for what assets they have left 😂

You suggested there might be exceptions to the mask rule in Shanghai. I explained the rule is Disney’s choice only in appearance in Shanghai.

Not gonna lie- a little part of me wants some pics with characters in big face masks 🤣

As fun as it would be, and it would definitely be done playfully but Disney, I think something like that would cut a little too close to home for some people.

Oh for sure. They won’t do it because it might literally traumatized kids and Disney very much values the face appearance of their characters.

But I can still laugh 😆

If kids associated the masks with someone they love that was sick, then yeah, they’d be traumatized. But they wouldn’t be doing it to poke fun at the situation they’re in, more of a “we’re in this together” type of thing. “Look mom and dad, Mickey is wearing a mask like me”. And for us adults, there would be the added benefit of comedy

Rather than upsetting, I think kids would find it interesting that the characters were wearing masks to do their part to slow the spread, too.

Mine wouldn’t. Everyone I know wants to get away from the insanity and reminder of it.
Yeah, my family feels that way. We’re booked for a trip in July and I’ve been eager for news of the parks opening, but there’s just no way I’m spending $10,000 to go on a Disney vacation and wear a mask there. So this is not a good sign. I get that it’s a tough situation, but that’s just a deal-breaker. No fun. Especially in the hot summer.
