Rum Point Beach Adventure

What can you tell me about the Rum Point Beach Adventure? We have booked that excursion for the Grand Caymans? What type of water sports are available there? Can you rent snorkle gear and just snorkle on your own? Please fill me in. We leave January 18th.

We arrive in Grand Cayman at 7:00 a.m. and have to be back on the ship at 5:00 p.m. We are doing the Rum Point Beach Adventures at 8:50 a.m. and should be back to the pier by 2:00 p.m. Do we have time to do the turtle farm and "hell" on our own? How far are those places from the pier? Thanks for your input!

Very nice beach area, you can walk out really far, its so shallow. Lunch us expensive there as it is run by thr Hyatt. You can lounge in hammocks or rent watersport equipment...order a mudslide...awsome drinks & you aren' driving...

Thanks for the reply wavegirl. Can you rent snorkle equipment and snorkle right there? Our sandwiches and beverages are included in the package, so hopefully that will hold us over until we get back on the ship. Does anyone know how far the turtle farm is from the pier? Thanks again.

Have a look at the interactive map found on Grand Cayman Cruise Guide . Just scroll down the page until you see a blue map.

The red dot by the spot that says George Town, is the port. You are going to the red dot labeled run point. It will take about 3/4 of a hour each way.

Now once you are back at the port, you basically follow the road going north, past Seven Mile Beach to the little point (North-West) and that is the Turtle farm...20 minutes..no dot there. Hope that helps
