We will have an 18 month old when we go in Oct and am wondering how it works for buffets. They have to eat off of our plate correct. If they get their own plate we will be charged. And as far as drinks I would need to bring a sippy and put some of our drink in that or buy her her own correct. What about table service would it be a big deal if when we are at 50s prime time I ask for an empty plate to put some of our food on for her?

At most if not all buffets you will find that they will allow you to fix a separate plate for an infant and will provide a drink for them.

Anywhere else it will depend on the specific restaurant.

Thanks! I know on our one trip they charged me a TS for my 2yo at CP and I had to go have it taken off so I hope the waiters/waitresses are more informed now.

We've been twice with under-3s, and I've never had any problem, either OOP or on the dining plan, with putting together a separate plate for them.

In our case, we had to specifically mention that our youngest was only 2 at buffets since she was tall for her age. Whenever we didn't specify, we were charged a child TS for her that year at buffets.

We went with our 3yo and 2yo, and they just split meals on the 3yo plan. Our 2yo drank milk or water or juice at every TS meal, and we were never charged for her drink, I thought that was nice. Buffets are complimentary for under 3yo, drinks and food.

We went last year when my ds was just a few weeks shy of his 3rd birthday and we were encouraged to get a plate for him at the buffets and received free drinks at all the meals for him. He was even tall for his age(90th percentile) and I don't remember anyone even asking. I assumed it was somewhere on the ressies since I know they asked the ages of the kids when I made them.

Last summer our younger son was 14 months old. We went to all buffet dinners and family-style. They never charged for him, never asked (he was only 14 months and it was obvious by looking at him that he was under 3), and never charged for a drink for him (he had apple juice). We also did 2 character breakfasts and they did not charge for those either, and they brought him milk and did not charge. I fixed him his own plates at each.

The funny thing is, back then, he ate more than his older brother (who was 3 at the time)!

You will not need to feed your child off of your plate at buffets - you can fix them their own plate and they will bring you a drink as well.

In January we went with our 2 yr old son who is VERY large for his age. I think I mentioned it a few times, but other times didn't but checked the receipt just in case we were charged. I think we MAY have had to pay for a drink or two at sit down meals (he was sharing with his brother), but not at buffets/family style if I remember correctly. At times, I would order apple juice or milk as MY drink then just have water with my meal (or an adult beverage)!! At Ohana we ordered them each a chicken nuggets kids meal and fully expected to pay for it OOP but she didn't charge us. I'M SURE THAT IS NOT POLICY, but I sure wasn't going to deny the MAGIC!:rotfl:I think the server was just too busy and rushed to worry about it!:rolleyes1

It may well be policy. We were told at 'Ohana that if the kids didn't like the meal, they could be brought a kid's meal at no extra charge. This was for one child that we paid for and two that we didn't. We didn't have to try it out since the kids all ate the regular meal.

We ate last year w/ my 18 month ds at Akershus Royal Table and they told us right up front when ordering that we could order anything off the childrens menu and it would be free. I thought that was really nice. Any buffet we ate at we always made his own plate for him and no one ever charge us. We did eat at coral reef and spoodles and we had to pay for what we ordered. We never really share plates because my ds loves food, he would eat everything off our plates and leave nothing for us:laughing:

We went when my DS was 2 1/2 at buffets they brought him his own drink and we were never charged. Also, when we ate at Coral Reef they brought him a kids meal and we weren't charged for it :)
