We'll be there the 17th-29th, with those first and last days being just half days as we check in and check out.

And don't feel bad about the people who think you are crazy. We have people who think we're crazy and we'll be staying in a popup with A/C, a bathroom, a fridge, microwave, oven, running water, radio, and TV with cable. LOL

We will be there until the 31st. I think I like your departure plan better. You will probably beat holiday traffic where as I will be all sorts of stuck in it lol. We are playing it by ear. We have never had to take down camp before driving home. Usually we leave town at 6 a.m. and drive the 20 hours straight home. Not sure what will be the best way to handle this whole thing. It's not like we can just jump in the car and go, lol. Maybe we will take down late in the day Friday and drive through the night as to miss some of the holiday traffic.

We plan on breaking the drive up into two days. DH would love to drive straight through, but I don't think my rear end - or our 3 kids - would survive!

We have a reservation at a campground in S.C. for the way down. I have to call the one I picked out in N.C. for the trip home. We figure by the time we get up, have breakfast, and pack up, we can check out by 11 and get on the road without feeling too rushed.

Our drive home will be 20 or so hours also. We're in upstate NY.
