RUDENESS IN THE PARKS

Thanks everyone for your tips on handling rude guests. We've always staked out our spot along the parade route at least 45 minutes in advance. We always make room for other parents kids on the curb if ours have extra space. Still doesn't stop some folks from "creating space" where none exists. And even the "cultural differences" and sense of personal space do not excuse pushing a child away from his parent or shoving a pregnant woman. My wife will no longer go to the parades and I'm not sure I'm ready to take a 3 year old and an active 8 year old into a crowded situation myself.

I've been to France where "everyone hates Americans." And you know what? The only time I was treated badly was by CM's at Disneyland Paris!

Only 18 weeks to go!

Why didn't you follow this up at the Community Board where the original thread was moved?

I saw your original post/reply before you edited it. OUCH! Pardon me for posting on the inappropriate board. But if something such as my innocent mistake prompts such a harsh reply, I have to ask what you would do if I accidentally bumped you with my stroller!

hmmm seems reasonable to post this here especially if you are asking for tips.....

Hi, everyone! Just a reminder to be respectful when replying to this topic. Although there is nothing wrong with having a difference of opinion on a subject (we encourage that on the DIS), personally attacking another DISer because he/she has a difference of opinion will NOT be tolerated. Thanks so much! :)

Thanks for your posts Debi and Beverly. I was switching between boards and accidentally posted on the Tip Board after Debi had moved the thread to the Community Board.

Yes, I edited my own reply. While I don't agree with you that it was "harsh", on further reflection I thought it was inappropriate and would probably be taken the wrong way. Which it was.

Instead of attacking me in public for doing the right thing, you could have emailed me. My email address is always available.
