DF and i were trying to get reservations for a restaurant and of course the person we talk to on the phone.......was extremely rude to me.

we wanted Coral Reefe reservations and he said "oh we're booked" and i said "well this is off season, you're booked solid for the whole week?"

"uhm YEAH! we book 180 ahead of time!" all snotty like. i just hate it when people are rude. so he goes on about it being booked all day.

so DF is on the phone and 5 minutes later all of a sudden "Well......if you REALLY want to eat at Coral Reefe.......we have lunch times open"

***??? didn't you JUST say that they were booked all day...all week?? AND were rude to me about it??

I am sorry to hear about your experience. I just hate that.

I would try calling back to see if you can get a seating. Also, if you got the name, I would call and speak to a supervisor and kindly tell them that you were not trying to get anything for free and did not appreciate being treated like you did something wrong.

One more thing I might add...Since Disney started doing the 180 days (which I don't care for), things fill up more quickly. Even if it is off season, those on the dining plan make their reservations as soon as they can...well, those of us who are obsessive planners I should say.

Yikes! we have literally NEVER had a problem with any sort of phone reservation in our 18 years of going to WDW. That's a shame. Maybe the guy had a fight with his better half before he came to work.......

well we ended up getting a late lunch at 2:30. i just can't believe the guy laughed at me, was rude to me, and THEN tells DF "oh well we really DO have some times open".

this is the first time we've ever had a problem with it.

From what you've posted, it doesn't seem like he was rude at all - did you say you wanted a dinner or lunch reservation at first? When he told you that they were booked, you questioned his answer - but you considered him rude? From your very first statemnet, you look like you set yourself up expecting the person to be rude... :confused3

no i was actually quite nice to him when i said "you're booked solid the whole week?" because i was thinking that maybe we could switch days. and i didn't say "lunch or dinner" i just said it didn't matter.

why would i "expect" someone to be rude? espically someone from Disney??

he also went on to my DF about "how do you put up with her!?" and was saying ignorant things to that effect. i was just asking some questions because i wanted answers and he was getting angry because i kept asking questions.

I agree if you said we would like to eat at Corral Reef and he ledyou to believe fully booked then yes rude.

If you asked for dinner specifially, the CM should say sorry we are booked how about lunch. I have had this happen from time to time.

So Schmeck what you are talking is what we called working to rule, do no more no less than in handbook. What Disney tries to stress is customer friendly, so I think the OP is right on.

I had one experience in 24 years at WDW with a rude CM, I called to complain. The supv asked who I spoke to, connected me, listened in. She than asked is this the CM, I affirmed it was and she took it from there. So you did and do have recourse.

I also recieved all sorts of little gifts from small figurine to a comped dinner, I never asked for them then and never since. I must say it was the best customer service I ever saw.

yep when i asked about it......he said they were booked solid(hence my question of "you're booked solid the whole week?").....when DF got on the phone and asked......all of a sudden "well we have lunches still avaliable"

there's a difference between someone having a bad day, and then someone just being plain rude. i've been to Disney before where some of the CM's have had bad days and aren't the "happiest" but they were at least still nice to me.

Funny enough that is the only place we had a problem with this past summer. We had reservations for different places throughout our the whole week (we were on the dining plan). Coral Reef was the snottiest place we ate at.

they've always been nice before, but this time it bothered me. i think the thing that bothered me most is when i said "you're booked for the whole week?" and he started laughing at me. it was like a "hahaha yep we are!" .

When booking ADRs the CM will always, always ask what day and what time you want to book. Sounds like your initial times were booked. :confused3

If you ever feel that a CM is not knowledgeable or being rude......just hang up and call back. Problem solved.

when we talked to the CM originally we said "Coral Reefe, such-and-such day, doesn't matter what time afternoon or evening" and that's when he said "booked solid"

i kept telling DF to hang up on him, but he wouldn't! lol

I'm not sure about the 180 day thing totally cleaning them out of reservations. When I wa reserving meals for my parents and I called int he later afternoon I had a difficult time getting things with boaut 90 days out. One morning I need to get up early anyway so I called to book a few more ADR's for them and was bale to get everything I wanted and the ones that were all full up were available that AM as well. Is it possible that they open up a few for each time slot daily? I got better times and everything they were looking for less than 30 :confused3 days out than at the 90 day mark.

During Super Soap weekend and they had a "List" of resteraunts that were available for Lunch/Dinner and how many in the party. ;) I thought that was neat, and was able to make Lunch ressies at Mama Melrose, and I ordered the wrong thing! :confused3

Shame on you it sounds like to me you made that part up as you went, you made several post before you even mentioned that

i posted this as DF was still on the phone with the guy. i didn't know he said those things until after he hung up with him.

You people are unreal! I've had a few times that someone at CRO/DTC was rude, it happens. Give the OP the benefit of the doubt. It sounds to me like he was maybe not so much rude as smug and condescending, but nonetheless not exactly full of pixie dust, and didn't give the OP a very good experience.
