Return to the Madness: Part 8 Day 5 3/1 The saga continues, but no more ranting about height requirements, I promise!

Cast:
Me: Obsessive Disney Planner, Disney Commando in 12 step program learning how to do Disney with kids!!!
DH 30- Loves Disney as much as me, but content to sit at the pool and watch the kids…
DD6- knows everything, or thinks she does
DD5- loves everything, especially if it is pink
DS4- loves Buzz. We call him Stitch, he is messy and destructive, but very cute.

Okay, my ranting over the whole height requirement debaucle is now done. After that, we decided it wasn't worth the trouble trying to see if DS was 40" at each ride or not. He had been on a few new rides, and was happy. If its not broken, don't fix it, right?

After the Dinsoaur incident, I think I mentioned that we did the safari. We, DH and I, each got a chance to ride Primeaval Whirl and were both a little disappointed with it. I guess it looks like it is more fun than it actually is. We each took turns riding triceratop spin with the kids, while the other was on the whirl. Then, we took our coupons from breakfast to one of the games. It was the one where you shoot water at a target and make your thing go to the top. DS won the first game. I then had to pay so that each of the girls could win too. It only cost me 8 dollars, which I considered a fairly good deal at the time!

At this point, I realized that I had an unexpected (sort of, I planned for this but was not prepared for this exact moment in time.) visitor, and needed a restroom pronto. Ever notice this "visitor" always comes at the worst possible time??

IT was cold, so swimming was out, sorry kids, and we had planned on going from AK directly to MGM. But with the new "visitor" I decided we should go back to the room, so I could change and we could go to MGM from there.

We went back to our room, where everone took a potty break. I gathered up sweatshirts for everyone, and we headed for the bus stop. We made it to MGM in no time at all. I know there has been concern about the transportation at WL, but I never noticed a problem. We did occasionally stop at other places, like FW or GF, but it never took to long, and only once did people have to stand.

When we got to MGM, it was just about time for the parade. We grabbed a spot on the curb and then I began the hunt for ice cream and popcorn. I found the ice cream no problem, but the popcorn cart had a really long line. I tried to find another one, but there wasn't one close by, if at all. I ended up waiting in line for at least 25 minutes for popcorn. I think, but am not sure, that people were using the snack option on the dining plan, and the girl in the cart was having major issues with this. I paid cash, so it was no big deal.

I made it back to DH and the kids with popcorn and icecream only to find DS sound asleep in his stroller. We decided to let him sleep since he can be a bear when he is tired. He ended up waking up in time to see Buzz Lightyear waving right at him....he was thrilled. The parade was great, the kids loved it and so did I. I love the music they play when Lilo and Stitch are coming!

After the parade we headed right to Indiana Jones. DH was determined to be picked as an extra. We sat right up front. He jumped up when they asked for help, but was not chosen. Oh well, maybe next time. The show was great as usual. The kids love Indiana Jones, we have even let them watch a few of the movies and they love them. DS wants a Indiana Jones hat, but I couldn't see spending all that money a hat that was way too big.

When Indiana Jones was over, we headed for the backlot express. I wanted to grab burgers before heading over to catch Beauty and the Beast. We made it there about 20 minutes before they closed. We basically had the place all to ourselves. It was kind of nice. Then, we hightailed it over to Beauty and the Beast. I love this show. The kids really enjoyed it as well. Then we decided it was time to grab a seat for Fantasmic. I was not sure what to expect, since the last time we did this show, we did the dinner package. It actually worked out really well. We ended up in the middle of the stadium, about halfway up, at the end of a row. We couldn't have asked for better seats! Dh contimplated taking DD5 on one more ride at TOT, but wasn't sure he would get back in, so they all stayed put. After about 30 minutes, I decided to go get some drinks. When I came back, DH asked me about some fleece blankets they were selling. I told him they were 30 dollars a pop. He decided to go and take a look. He came back with 3, Mickey for DS, Tink for DD6, and something pink (minnie?) for DD5. It wasn't cold cold, but it was a cool night, and even with our layers and sweatshirts the fleece blankets came in handy!

Fantasmic was awesome! The kids get really into it. DS talked the whole way back the WL about how Mickey changed his bad dream. The girls loved the end, when all the characters are on the boat...I have never seen them wave so much!

All in all, even with all the height drama, it was a great day.

Up Next: Pirate Adventure for kids! MGM Again and MK pm EMH!

Note: We did not go to Epcot at all this trip. We spent a few days there on our August trip, and my adrenaline junkie children didn't like it. In addition, with all of the time spent in the pool we simply didn't have time to fit it in. We wanted to see parades, and shows, and do rides the kids liked. Perhaps on our next trip!
