So, I know the whole "stay right" technique for the morning but I wanted to ride RSR at night. Everyone says it's amazing.
When should I get a FP for a night ride? Or is it easier to just single rider it?

Also, has anyone noticed how Toy Story is the early (non early entry) days?
We typically do the whole RSR thing (get FP and ride first thing) and then we go straight to Toy Story and get a few rides in. Is it still a good time to do this? Are most getting fast passes for later or riding right away or both?

Any info would be great :)

TSMM is still basically a walk on for the first 30 minutes (assuming 8:00 park opening). As for RSR, keep an eye on the app for after-dark return times. And make SURE you are eligible to get a FP when a return time you want opens. That is, don't have another FP for which the window to grab another has not yet opened.

Thanks a ton!
What app is used for keeping an eye on return times?

Disneyland official App

For TSMM I would recommend grabbing the FP for it first thing and then walk onto the other Paradise Pier attractions, grab a Soarin FP as your 2nd FP, then use that TSMM FP
Once that Soarin FP if up then grab FP for RSR, which should be for the night ride that you are looking for .

Remember it really doesn't get dark until 7-730pm.

Also, not sure when you are going but be aware that the FP for Guardians may be the bigger draw during your visit.

Just returned tonight from 5 days. TSM was not walk on during EMH any day we went. It built very quickly to 20-40 minutes and just got worse as the day went on. We tried for a dark RSR FP and had a 745pm return time (so rode about 8pm when park closed at 8). Sunset was 735 per weather.com. Still was not totally dark to me. So if you want truly dark, you need to go when the park closes at 10pm and shoot for 830pm return time, IMHO.

One twist is RSR FP distribute during EMH, so you can typically skip it entirely during EMH and grab a FP during EMH with return time of right after regular park opening, then ride it with that FP, then still be able to pull one later for a night ride.

We were there on Saturday - I can't comment on the RSR night ride. But, we were there for rope drop (8am) - I grabbed the RSR fast passes for our group while the other adult took all of our kids first to Goofy SkySchool (walk on). We met up and then headed to TSMM (walk on). After that we rode the carousel (TSMM was still a walk on at this point). We then did Screamin' (walk on). By then it was 8:40am, at 8:45am we grabbed our next set of FPs for Soarin' and headed to RSR for our 8:45-9:45am FP ride. The park started to get heavy at about 11am.

Just go Single Rider and save your FP for something else.

We don't do single rider because we like to do fun family Photopass pictures on the ride and for us, a lot of the fun is riding it together. Not sure if OP's kids are old enough to do single rider? To each their own.
