Can my husband run and get fast pass for RSR at rope drop and meet us back on the line for TSM or will he not be able to ride with us? If not, and we do TSM and then run to get RSR fastpass should we do mater and luigi at this point or should we return to go on Soarin? We optimally would like to do all...

TSMM is usually "walk on" at rope drop (for the first 15 minutes or so). You can probably ride it twice before your husband can get RSR FP's and get over there.

Line cutting to join your party is a touchy subject as there is not consensus on these boards about whether it's appropriate or the criteria that would make it appropriate. DLR technically says you can't do it. But as with all things, it depends on the circumstances (where you are in the line, the good graces of the people behind you, etc.) Though as PPer noted, none of that may matter as TSM has not much of a line at rope drop anyway.

If you show up to the gates early enough and he can get to the rope on the left hand side, he won't have much trouble catching up with you. If you are near the front by the rope, he will have his FP's on be on his way in a couple mins. time then can walk over to meet you at TSMM entrance and it should still be a very short wait to get on.

Personally, I would probably go ride TSMM as a family and then go back at RSR FPs. As others have said, TSMM generally has a fairly short line (<5 minutes) right at rope drop (assuming this is not an EMH morning). You can be on and done and back to RSR FPs within 30 minutes (I would guess). After that, I would head to Soarin'. Luigi and Mater do not seem to have super long lines in most cases, so I would slot those in around your RSR return time.

Otherwise, whether your husband can catch up to you is harder to answer. I generally agree that if he's at the front of the rope drop area on the left side, he should be able to get a FP pretty quickly. If he's further back, on the right side, or gets stuck behind slower moving folks, it can be up to 30 minutes before he gets his FP. They did away with the pre-opening line, so now folks kind of mill about until the park opens and then they converge on the FP location. Also, it's worth noting that if RSR is not running at opening, they will not start distributing FP until the ride is up and running.

If the line for racers fastpasses are long at opening skip it and come back later. If it's reasonable looking grab the fastpasses together and then head to TSMM. Ride it and anything else on the pier you are interested. Then head to racers to use fastpass or go grab a fastpass. If the line is more than 15 minutes for mater or tires come back later.

Fastpasses for soarin last most of the day so you can go there whenever you can.

My typical day at DCA goes like this....
Toy story, screamin ( multiple rides), sky school, swings, check out shops and such on pier, grab racers fastpass, mater, shop and such carsland, lunch on pier or wharf, racers with fastpass, grizzly if warm, then it's time for a break

In the evening I like to go to animation class, muppets, Aladdin show, bugs land and carsland again, also screamin at night

Sounds like the perfect day, that's usually our schedule too!

Does this plan work during high season like this week? I want to get to TSMM and ride a few times but don't want to miss getting RSR fast passes?!?!?
