You wait 2 hours in line only for it to break down just before you board. Breaks down constantly throughout the day. Same with Luigi's. But hey they are happy to sell you overpriced water in line.

I think alot of people would disagree with you. Sorry the ride didn't work out well.

I would be completely frustrated, too. But it is a new ride and I think some of that is to be expected. We're going this fall and I am crossing my fingers that it's running better by then.

Hope the rest of your trip has been better!

I think they meant disagreeing with regards to the ever-so descriptive title "rsr sucks".

Oh! Well, :rotfl:, you sort of have to read more than just subjects on posts, right? :goodvibes Something about a book and its cover? :rotfl:

We did not get a change to ride. My strategy was going to be to use the single rider line, but I only gave us one day (was there 2 days, but did not attempt first day). We got there around 8:30 (probably too late) and the single rider line was closed. Checked back 3 other times throughout the day and the ride was either not running or the single rider line was closed. I was not willing to wait 3 hours. We'll just have to wait for our next trip! DCA was packed and there are many more rides at Disneyland I prefer, so we spent more time there.

I remember when DCA first opened. Scream'n broke, TOT, GRR, Soar'n and Maliboomer all broke down several times each over and over on each day we were there. A line out the door at GS for those wanting refunds etc. CM's told guests to see some shows or parade instead. It was quite some time before all the kinks were worked out.

I do remember a time when Scream'n was down almost all day but it wasn't Disney's fault. Riders were getting stung or smacked by 100's of bees who built a hive near the top of the tallest hill.

A ride that complex is expected to break down, like Test Track (which keep in mind uses technology more complex than NASA, yes quote me on that.) If it's designed similarly to Test Track I can imagine why it breaks down.

Sorry everyone. My phone should be taken away when I'm frustrated. Had my six year old in line with me for 2 hours and it broke down just prior to boarding. Took another 30 minutes to resume. It's a fun ride but not worth 2.5 hours to wait.

At least my wife didn't have to wait due to a switch pass. She just had to entertain the two year old for 2.5 hours. I'm sure her opinion will be better than mine.

I like the theme but I think honestly prefer test track. Just an fyi...... The wait time stated 90 minutes prior to entering so just prepare in case you have to wait longer than advertised.

Thanks for the info 7

im planing on making this a first ride of the day eathier with fp getting in line at 730 just to make sure to get the fp as soon as can or gona just run over to line up for the ride excatly when im let in. Of course hoping by oct wont be as many brake downs.

Im sorry you had a bad time waiting in line. I hope you will have better luck next time

I think you have a good point about being at the Disneyland Resort for a few days and having to wait so long in line for an attraction. For those of us who go often, it's just part of the experience to stand in line for a long time when an attraction is new. When Indiana Jones opened, my younger kids (at the time) and I waited four hours. I know it sounds crazy, but it was part of the excitement and fun.

For those who are coming in from out of town, it simply is not worth the wait. There are too many other fun things to do in the park, and though it would be fun, I would really recommend doing other things unless you can get fast passes for the ride.

I'm not willing to wait that long for any ride lol, new or not. That's just nuts. Especially on day one, hearing people waiting in line for SIX HOURS. That's just insane. I'd rather go spend that time riding a bunch of other rides. I understand it's new and everyone wants to experience it, but maybe next time. No theme park ride is worth a long wait like that to me lol, even my favorite Disneyland rides.

Just an FYI-Ridemax strongly recommends the single rider line. They say, and I have read here, that if SR is closed just come back a short time later and try again. They just close it when the SR line gets too long to give it a chance to shorten a little. With how long it takes to get a FP and how long the return lines are, they claim SR is the way to go. Now in the case of the OP that wouldn't work, since he has a 6 year old with him.

Also, for those of us with only a couple days in the parks, we have to weigh whether or not the wait is worth it. In our case, my son is almost 13. We want to see Carsland but if we don't get to ride, it won't ruin our trip. I can see how it would be a huge deal for someone with a 6 year old though.

I rode it on Monday with FP. It is a brilliant well thought out ride. The track is filled with hundreds of sensors. If even a leaf blows in and covers a sensor the ride goes down.
Going back in September when the crowds die down :teacher:

Oh absolutely. The longest I've seen Single rider is 60 min. They do close it when it's too long like you said, but usually it's about 45-50 for single rider. I could not do this because of my little girl, but at least we had the switch pass for her to go on through the fast pass line with mommy. I would NEVER wait 2 hours + again for a ride. I don't do it in WDW, but we may never be again, or many many years, so I could not leave without riding it.

But yes, if you don't have small children, single rider IS the way to go. Sure it is great to ride with your friends/family, but not at the expense of another hour plus. The good news it, Today Saturday the 30th, Disneyland park has been great as far as wait times. Everyone is in line for RSR :rotfl:

Maybe I should have named the thread title.....RSR will frustrate the bajesus out of you while waiting.

Oh and last tip......If you have a fast pass, and you wait till the last hour of the park to use it if the time is earlier, then you will wait longer, because the people who have the late night times, plus all the other people who haven't used them yet crowd the fast pass line. Still shorter than Single Rider, but longer than if you just go closer to your time.

The big reason test track breaks down is due to rain. Any water on the track and it gets shut down till its dry. This is a big issue in FL where it can easily rain once a day.

CA and RSR that is not the issue. I have heard its due to more the animatronics than the track.

I took the liberty of bolding above because I think it's so true!

Disney isn't the only park that struggles with this and in general I think Disney deals with it better than most.

Sea World is having Manta Mornings for AP holders to ride their new coaster. So we got up at ugly o'clock to be there an hour before opening, except guess what? No Manta, and the explanation was it's a new ride with kinks that need to be worked out.

Judging by what I heard from people who were especially vocal while lodging complaints, Manta has been down A LOT. At least at Disney you can go do something else. At SW they opened the gates and suggested people buy something to eat since absolutely nothing else was available for that first hour. BTW, Manta did finally come up, but not until afternoon.
