We will be at DCA on Sunday Sept 27th. We want to get a FP so we can ride RSR around 7-8pm. Summer of 2014 when we were there last we got the FP at around 10am for a 7pm ride. Has that changed? If so what time should we be at the FP machines to get a FP for a 7-8pm ride time? Thanks!

Might take a bit of luck. When the ride goes down, they close the fast pass machines. Depending on crowd levels, and ride closures it might be difficult to time. Our last trip, we got nighttime fast passes after 4pm and 6pm.

We were there last month, and throughout the day I would call Ask Otto to find out the FP return time. Worked perfectly!

Sundays are busy days, so the FPs will likely go faster than some days. I'd do as sharksfinatic said and call Ask Otto periodically.

When we were there in March we would pull a night FP for RSR between 9:30-10 but it was Spring Break and the FP were gone before noon.

We were there yesterday (a very busy Saturday). Got passes at 11:30 for a 7:15-8:15 return. But agree with above Sundays are generally busier

What is "Ask Otto"?
Ask Otto is the DLR call-in system that gives wait times for attractions. It will also tell you if fast passes are available and what the current return times are if you pull a FP at that moment. The number is (714) 520-7090. The great thing is that you don't have to even be in the parks to use it, so for fun you can call before your trip to get a feel for what the wait/return times may be like.

For an evening RSR return time I would start calling Ask Otto around 9:30am and see what times they are giving out and then keep calling until it gets close to the time you want.

We were in DCA today, it was pretty crowded though I'm sure a Sunday is more crowded. We pulled RSR FPs for 6:30-7:30 at 12:15. Park closed at 8:00.

So if I pick up fast passes as soon as the park opens (10 am the day we are planning), would I realistically be able to pull another set around 12:30 as well? Is there a good chance they will still be available once my two hour window has passed? So we could ride once in the morning and again at night? My son is SO excited to ride this, he was 1/4" too short when we were there in February.

Prob not. The 10am FP return time will not be after 12:30.

If you are going on a non Extra Magic Hour for DCA (Tue, Thur and Sat), best to get there at rope drop and stay on the right side. Ride RSR immediately and then get a FP for RSR for evening return.

I thought I read that you could pick up another fast pass after two hours or when your return window opens up, whichever comes first? Is this incorrect?

We tried this. You cannot get a FP for the same attraction until the time on the FP you have has actually come. So if you get your RSR FP at 9am for 10:20-11:20 you could get another FP for RSR at 10:20 before riding the ride. However if you get your FP at 9am for 12:30-1:30, you would have to wait until 12:30 to get another FP for RSR. You could get a FP for any other ride in the park at 11am, just not RSR. The longer the park hours, and the earlier you get your FP, the more likely you'd be able to get two sets of FPs for RSR.

Yes, but I believe not of the same attraction.

Shoot- I didn't realize that was a rule. I guess I'll just hope that the fast passes don't run out before we ride.
