I have a quick question...the apps at Raglan Road are classified as "solo" or "for two" or something along those lines. On DDP, can you get any of them, or does it have to be from the "solo" apps?
This is casually mentioned in the Dining Plan FAQ, but perhaps it should be more explicit.
Generally speaking, the Dining Plan only includes menu items that are intended for a single diner; it cannot be used to get menu items intended for more than one diner, and (again generally) you cannot even "pool credits" from multiple diners to order such items. There are exceptions, of course, especially to the last part; i.e., some restaurants will sometimes allow Dining Plan patrons to order menu items intended for more than one diner, if that number of diners are willing to order it and share.
Having said that, the DTD restaurants tend to be sticklers for applying this rule in the most stringent fashion. I am not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Raglan Road actually introduced the whole "solo" versus "for two" thing on their menu for no other reason than to make it clear that the "for two" items cannot be ordered by a single diner on the Dining Plan.
No, at Raglan Road there have been some appetizers for two since it opened as I recall.
But we've dined there three times and were on the DDP twice. The first visit which was last May, the server advised us that appetizers marked for two could be ordered by a single diner! By September, this had changed. Two of us could order an duo appetizer and share.....which frankly makes more sense.
The Dalkey Duo is excellent and my scallop lovers also enjoyed the Scallop Forest (or something like that).
We were just there earlier this month and it was the same thing. You could order app. for two if the other person in your party was willing to split the app. Me and dh split the ribs I think and it was wonderful! I think more resturants should go for this because seperate app. got to be too much food. I would rather have a quality vs. quantity.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the plan change to just include one appetizer per two diners (one for one diner, one for two diners, two for three or four diners, etc.)

I've always wondered about this too... it's a shame since there are only 3 or so apps for one person and 2 soups, not much choice...
IMO they should include a smaller portion of the For Two apps for single diners. I love seafood but my DBF hates it - therefore I wont be getting any scallops or prawns, or the smokie city that sounds DELICIOUS

I would be surprised indeed if there were to be such a change! Disney dining plans have been around since at least the early 80s and have always included an appetizer per person.
In fact, I question the wording in the FAQ. Have two people been denied sharing an appetizer for two at any DDP restaurant?
