while at the pool today, a woman with 2 kids and DH took loungers beside us, Well, the commotion and utterings around the pool you could not miss, as she took her dress of, [they had come over from PBH] she was wearing a Thong swim bottoms, and she was not the prettiest site with celluite and stretch marks, but each to their own, one child who got out of the pool sat on a large rock and just starred in amazement for at least 30 mins. People around the pool and the immediate area where not amused, as lots of teens etc. When the pool attendant came round with cold towels, i joked , could you throw one over her Butt. He said quite a few had complained and someone would have a word, i said we where not complaining just joking, but he said people where not happy, so someone asked her to cover up as it was not suitable with so many young ones at the pool, and she packed up and left, have a feeling she must have been asked the same at PBH and came to RPR to see if it was ok.
Not sure what the dress code is around the pools, and while it was thong btms i assumed it would be acceptable, but obviously not.
not sure if any one staying at the minute here saw it, if you where at the pool you could not miss it.

That must of been a site. :rotfl2:
About what time was this? We left IOA around 1 and cut through the pool area to get to the room.
BTW: Congrats to your DD with hula hooping.

never got a pic , everyone was watching , and did not want to look like a Perv.

Thanks Samandmom, yeah she has been trying hard, but think they need the games out the back of the hut, a women knocked into her after over an hour hula hooping yesterday, but obviouly an accident, but she is ok with it. she was at the pool just infront of the trees at the towel hut around 4pm

Oh ok by 4 we had left already for the studios. Do you go to the parks? Or are you mostly at the pool? DH and i have not been here since 1997 i think it was. So there was no IOA and this was the kids very first visit. They are DD 8 and DS will be 11 on Sunday. We only spent a few hours at the pool on our arrival day on Sunday. Enjoy your last full day!!! We have a late flight tonight, so after we check out we will be doing some shopping at city walk and then probaly on International drive.

:lmao:

I don't think there is a dress code on any of the websites. But there is a time and place for those types of suits. Water parks and family places are not one of them. Local beaches and private pools are more appropriate.:thumbsup2

Hope you have a nice last day before your flight, and you get home safe. We do not do the parks that much , did the rides we like a few times, but at the pool quite a bit relaxing. Very warm today, so doing some last minute shopping and back to Parks tonight

Yeah the guy i joked with about the cold towels they bring round, said quite a few had complained, I personally think it was the women :confused3, but there is no dress code, but like you say ,a time and a place

Hahaha, WOW, that was YOU who said that??! I work in the RPR recreation department, and that woman in the thong was a hot topic issue for awhile!!! Unfortunately I was unable to witness this woman, but I heard it was a sight. Unfortunately none of my coworkers knew how to handle or approach the situation without causing a ruckus. Half the team was in agreement that a girl attendant should approach her about covering up, because a male would be too..skeevy..I suggested a manager but unfortunately all of our managers were male so that wasn't a great idea either. I asked someone today at work about the situation and if it was ever resolved, and they said not that they knew of. I'm SO sorry you had to experience such a lovely sight at our hotel.

I don't wear them, but I just don't get why they are such a problem. That kid who sat and stared for 30 minutes...I think he might have a problem... maybe his parents, too.

"and she was not the prettiest site with celluite and stretch marks"...I've been seeing that sort of comment a lot recently, and it's making me crazy. Either a thong is OK to wear or it's not. It shouldn't matter how pretty a person looks in it. It's like when people comment on the type of people who wear Speedo bikini-type bottoms...I don't care if it's George Clooney (oh wait he's getting old, maybe he's not "allowed", so choose your own young hot man for this) or Hugh Hefner, either it's "legal" to wear them or it's not. People aren't always wearing those things for your enjoyment.

Harumph.

It was a girl who was sat staring at the sight, and young teenage girls where disgusted and all left this side of the pool because of it.
can i just say we did not complain, but apparently quite a few did. They seemed to have come over from PBH, which i think but cannot confirm that she was prob asked to cover up there as well, as her husband went in the pool, and seemed to be watching for everyones reaction to it. Personally it does not annoy me, as in Europe you get this everywhere, but the next thing i would say is once they are acceptable everywhere here, they will all be going topless as well.

Yeah Raymond was going round with cold towels, and called him back to joke about covering it with one,it was then he told me that they had quite a few complaints, it definetly was not a pretty site. I think it was one of the Lifeguard managers, if they have managers, as he had red shorts and white Tshirt on with beads around his neck, was quite a young guy. I definetly think they moved over from PBH to see what the reaction would be here, and if there had been no complaints , would have gone back to complain about it.

i think you had a very 'interesting' afternoon at the pool.

i can't believe someone would dress skimpy in a thong in a family setting.
now i believe you on what you said but i can't fathom any woman dressing like that unless she thought she had a body to show off.

don't worry homies, i don't do thongs.

enjoy your last night there.

you'll be back next year!

Mac sending a link in PM, setting was wrong on camera but will give you a good idea of where it is, feel free to post it again

just got it and will post it on the thread for potter.

thank you so much!

My family was at the pool that day we must have just missed it. My daughter was also hula hooping. Is your daughter the one going for the record?

Yeah she had 1hour 33mins when a girl knocked the hoop, and 1hour 10 mins the next day when a women bumped into it, so she did it for fun after that, as i said people will bump into her.
was your daughter one that was hooping as well and got entered io the draw, as there was a young girl there who was good .
My DD only started hula hooping 6 or 7 years ago at RPR she could barely do it for 5 seconds, as it is not done in the schools here, so she has picked it up when we go to RPR over the years.

Too Funny!

Yes she started hula hooping at Disney two years ago at the pool contests. She has won them on the past and was really excited but could not compete for the hours so she only did it 10 to 20 minutes to get in the drawings.

Yes i remember her, might have pic somewhere, with them all hooping, must have a look
