Hello :)

Just booked a king suite for our party of three, consisting of three adults (hubby, my mother and me). We're huge RPR fans, converted over from too much of the 'tude over at HRH.

We got a nice rate, $276 per night for the beginning of February, using our FL resident and/or APH (rates were the same). Usually hubby and I go together and stay in a standard theme park view in Tower 1.

My questions:

We're Lowes First members, and since the change with benefits, we've been able to utilize our benefits even booking rooms with FL/APH discounts. How does this work with a king suite? What sort of upgrade do we get if we've booked a king suite?

Also, if anyone's used the king suite before, do you think it will be good for three adult family members? We're all very close (we even work together), but my mom's going to have the pullout sofa. Is it comfy? It does come standard with the room, right? I know we pay a little surcharge for the third adult, but having a sofa sleeper is pretty important. I don't want to be embarrassed at check in and find out we would have needed to rent/request a rollaway bed.

Are there king suites in Tower 1? I have no interest in waking up to a view of palm trees or lagoons or pools. We're Floridians and have that in our homes. I want to wake up to the sound of the Hulk and a view of Hogwarts! Just want to make sure this is possible with this sort of room.

TIA :)

If you book the King Suite , there is no upgrades.
I book the standard room and get the free upgrade to King Suite with You First.
DD always sleeps on the Sofa, and she says its ok, King Suites are in every tower, we where put in tower 2, but got moved to one tower 3.
It will be fine for 3 adults, only problem is,there is only 1 bathroom in the lounge area, did you consider PBH ,there suites have 2 bathrooms ,if that would be better for you

Thanks for the speedy response, Rpbert!

I'd thought about PBR, but not thrilled about distance to parks/citywalk, and there's no suites being discounted at this time.

Hopefully the bathroom won't be a problem. We've all lived together with one bathroom before, so hopefully a few days at a hotel will be okay. We probably won't be spending too much time in the room anyhow other than to sleep and ... shower!! LOL!!!

I'd considered booking standard, but the "no guarantee of an upgrade" freaks me out too much. I guess I'm blue, possibly the next color, so I don't think I'm guaranteed an upgrade at time of reservation and only if available at time of check in. Am I worrying for nothing?

I got the upgrade with the YouFirst status, but might be worth taking a chance with the upgrade when you checkin, especially if its not a holiday or busy time.
I did the upgrade a couple of times at Checkin a few years back, got their early to checkin and never had a problem, this was July when we did this.

I had RPR booked for July next year, tried to apply discount, but kept telling me it was not available with the upgrade:confused3, so booked PBH, saw a better discounted rate at RPR so decided to phone and see if it was available with the upgrade , guy said it was fine,:confused3 so changed back to RPR, which is our fav resort yesterday
