If I priced this out correctly ................
Package
Royal Pacific Resort standard room
City Walk Pass
Meal DEal for 1 child
2 adult and 1 Jr 2day 2park pass with 3 additional days
rental car (is this from the airport?)

total -----------------------------$1528.96

Booking room only
6 nights at RPR standard room .......$183.20 x 6 = $1099.20
3 adult tickets (with free child ticket) 2 day 2 park with 3 free days $99.95
99.95 x 3 = $299.97
total ------------------------------$1399.17

difference of $129.70
including rental car and child's meals

Am I missing something? To me the package seems like a good deal. I know they usually are not so I am worried we are missing something! It would cost about $129 to use a towncar service to get from the airport.

Please tell me if there is another way to price this out or if there is a piece I am missing! We have been to Disney but this would be our first Universal trip. If it matters I am looking at Aug 9 - Aug 15.

Thank-you!

I dont think you are missing anything. If you were planning on the rental I would do it. Depending on your childs age tho, be a little wary of the meal/deal for kids. They have to order off the childs menu and from whats been posted on here, the options are pretty skimpy. So if your child is young, it would prob. work, but maybe not for a 8 or 9 yr old. If the math works with the rental car, I'd say go for it. (ask about the specifics on the rental car, make sure there are no surprise charges)

Nope, you're not missing anything. The only thing that could change is the room only price. It might get cheaper as the date approaches. The different rates change all the time, and the rate that you're getting now could go down. Example, the Annual Passholder Rate changed for my dates from $209 to between $129-179 as the date got closer. Also, when booking room only, you don't have to pay the entire price up front. Sometimes you pay nothing and sometimes it's only a one night's deposit. I like booking things seperately in case plans change. And lindalinda is absolutely correct in the child's meal deal. My 9 year old would not utilize the child's menu options - we ordered her the adult meal deal. Good Luck.

Thank-you both. My DD is 6 and would be happy to eat mac and cheese, hot dogs and chicken nuggets for the 5 days. We would not allow her to do that at home so she would be happy! I will have to do a little research on the car. If I understand correctly we would have a parking fee each night and since we most likely would not need the car except to go to and from the airport I'll compare it to a towncar service. We have always done that for Disney and it has been fine to be on-site without a car. I was just surprised to see a package that was so close in price to what I could book seperatly. I guess Universal has a whole new set of travel tips to learn! Thanks again.
