RPR Birthday Trip 7/28-8/1 Day 3

DAY 3:

Well, Sam decides to wake me up at midnight so she could be the first one to tell me Happy Birthday. Oh well, I love her We woke up a little later this morning, as it's a special day My parents rented a cabana by the pool for us. Now, I'd like to take the time to discuss the hotel, as I haven't yet.

HOTEL: RPR is beautiful, first off. We have been to all-inclusives in Mexico and the DR, and this was just as pretty. We had a standard room, Tower 3, fifth floor. View of the highway, but it was still cool. The pool is large and nice, but there was hardly anyone on the sand beach near the volleyball net and the taxi dock!

Now, back to the story. We had cabana #1, by the hot tub. So, we relaxed, and swam on/off until lunch. We got pool-side service from Bula Bar, which was pretty decent. Then, of course in true Florida fashion, it begins to rain. They closed the pool around quarter of 3, so we go back to the room to get ready for dinner. My friend Aly calls my cell exactly at 3 (she's punctual) to wish me a Happy Birthday as well. I love her, too! Then, we shower, and taxi over to CityWalk. Bubba Gump's was the restaurant of choice here, and we loved it! The waiters are very friendly and accomadating. They did give me a birthday sundae, in addition to putting me on a chair and singing I'm a shy person around people I don't know, so this is pretty embarrassing! Ah, well. Surprisingly, there wasn't as much at CW as we expected, not as many shops. We did hit the Universal store and the Endangered Species store, however. Happy Bunny is sold here, so that makes me happy Around 7:30, we go back to RPR, bored. America's Funniest Home Videos is on, so we watch, and then, of course, Fresh Prince! Bed early tonight.

I'm enjoying your TR thus far.... did you not ride Fire side of DD? (we like that better, unless we are in the front row of ICE)

And, for what it's worth....I never see anyone at the "beach" at RPR either

We did not ride FIRE. Well, we were going to, but backed out. On our journey, ICE took off after FIRE had already gotten BACK to the station, so we were flying solo. I was looking forward to "dueling" and the near-misses with the other car, but for some reason, it didn't happen! Next time, we will do FIRE for sure, and hopefully, it will be working.
