We can get AP rates at both Royal Pacific and Portofino Bay for the first week of April and I cannot decide which resort to choose! We have two boys, ages 6 and 11. People seem to prefer HRH or PB over RP, so am a little worried about staying at RP. We'll be there for eight nights. Thanks for any help.

Have you considered splitting your stay between two of the hotels? I haven't done that at Universal, but have at WDW. It's a hassle to pack up, but the moving is easy since the hotels will transfer the bags.

We've tried HRH before and and enjoyed it (especially the distance to the parks) and will be staying at RP this April. We may try PB in the future when our family is smaller. We have 4 children so we have to get 2 rooms so we try to keep is as cheap as possible.

For that length of time, with two kids, I would stay at PBH. The pool is nicer, the rooms are bigger. If money isn't an object, go for the nicer hotel.

We just returned from PBH last week. Though we haven't been to RP, my boys (11 & 13) loved the pool at PBH. It has a great slide, waterfall, and cool castle-like look to it. I'll bet your boys would love it!

If you are getting a great rate...go for the PBH, it is outstanding..great pool, nice restaurants...very relaxing.

We have also stayed at RPR...this too, if very, very nice. The rooms are smaller than at the PBH...you can compare the RPR to one of disney's deluxe hotels...only think nicer...that is the Royal Pacific.
