Royal Suite Question

For anyone who has stayed in a Royal Suite (Magic), can the twin beds in the second bedroom be pushed together to make a queen bed? If yes, will there be a crack down the center? I see there is a console table in between the two twin beds, so I'm not sure this can be done. That room will be mine and my two boys will be sleeping in the upper bunks. I'm paying a lot for this room (sharing with family) and would prefer to not sleep in a twin bed for 7 nights. (I am fully aware of the other bed arrangements in the suite, the master bedroom and murphy bed are being used by other family). Thanks in advance

No they are on either side of that room.

You have

one double bed room.
The second bedroom with two ceiling bunks and two singles directly below.
As you say a table between them.
There is a murphy sofa bed as well in the living area.

We had the Magic Royal Suite last week and they were able to push the beds together (My parents used that bedroom) BUT it precluded using one of the pull down beds, because of where the bed ladders had to go (We didn't worry about it as we had the kids in the Murphy bed). I have before and after pics; will share when I get them off the camera.

How much more does this suite cost compared a regular stateroom? They don't have the prices online. I'm planning a trip for 2017 and am wondering if I should book two rooms for our family of 6 or book a suite.

The prices are online. If you are not seeing them it's because the two Royal suites are already booked. The price will depend on the length of cruise, itinerary and number of passengers. For a family of 6 you can expect to pay about $20K for a 4 night cruise and about $30-40K for a 7 night in a Royal. The European itineraries are even higher. Only the Royals on the Magic and Wonder can accommodate more than 5 passengers.

Think that is very dependent on date--you can get good deals in slower seasons; we had seven in the room and paid below 10K for a 5 night.

You got an amazing deal. when did you sail? Yes, date does make a difference. Slow season vs high season and all that. . But Disney3025 is looking at 2017 rates, IMO it will be difficult to get a Royal suite for under 10K for a large party. DCL has made a quite a price increase in suite prices.

The first time we sailed (2012) the Royal was available for $9,600. Kicking myself for not taking it. The 2 bedroom was around $8,500 and we paid $7,100 for a 1 bedroom. This was for 7 nights (2A/2K).

We have never sailed concierge, we always get two rooms, once verandah, the other three times we sailed with an ocean view. This is a once in a lifetime (likely) cruise in this type of room. Our cruise is December 2016. We could never afford a Royal, or concierge for that matter on the Dream class ships. And for seven nights, we will truly be able to enjoy this room beautiful room.

We sailed week after Thanksgiving, and even the concierges mentioned how good a deal we got. That being said, was playing around on Cruisefish just to see what was out there now for 16 and 17, and a couple of the low season cruises are starting out only a couple thousands above what we paid. Was amazing though; cross over certain weeks, and the price doubled or tripled.

We are on the Magic now. We just asked them to push the beds together and they looked at us like we were crazy. They pushed the beds together, but they didn't adjust the bedding or mattress. Kinda defeats the purpose. We will see on day 2 if this gets fixed.

We adjusted our sleeping arrangements so it wasn't an issue, but it wasn't resolved. We didn't bring it up again until the final night when we talked to concierge and they were horrified it hadn't been fixed. The housekeeping manager came and spoke to DW. He said that when he told his guys to put the beds together he had an egg crate to put on the beds and new linens for it to be one bed. I will confirm that with the beds together you lose one of the bunk beds from the ceiling.

We are staying 2 rooms down on the magic in April (cabin 8524). Is the hallway in front of the rooms set up like a lobby for concierge? We are cat 4A, but not concierge and I am just wondering if we are going to be walking thru concierge situation every time we leave our room?
