I am trying to decide between Wilderness Lodge and the new Royal Rooms at Riverside. Anyone stayed at both and which would you prefer? I am an avid Disney World traveler but haven't stayed at either. Thanks! :)

I can't comment on POR as we've never stayed there, but we love the WL :). The resort is beautiful and it's nice having everything under one roof. We also love taking the boat to MK as well as to the CR where we can hop on the monorail and visit, shop, or dine at the Poly and GF. Plus the lobby is gorgeous and is a great place to sit and relax taking everything in :cloud9:.

We just got back from POR royal room. We liked the room had a river view but not worth the extra for the view where there is no balcony. We had a view of a large tree and you could see the river if you looked hard enough. We stayed at WL club level a few years back and LOVED it. When we go back next year we are booking WL. We perferred WL over POR.

I'm so glad you posted this question. I've been going back in forth with this for months already. We stayed at WL back in December and loved it. In fact, we booked again at WL for this upcoming December. I keep asking myself, if I should save the $850 and stay at POR. I think I'm leaning towards keeping the WL.

I've stayed at both WL and in a new royal room at POR and have enjoyed them both for different reasons! The royal rooms are brand new and are so enjoyable - lots of details and are all located in the mansions section, so close to the main building. WL, of course is magnificent!

I think, for me, it really comes down to amenities. WL is a deluxe and POR is a moderate, so though I have enjoyed both rooms, WL just offers more (and of course you have to pay for that "more"!) Honestly, they are both great, it just depends on what you are looking for in your full resort stay and not just the room decor.

We stayed at WL last summer and LOVED it. Loved being so close to the MK and taking the boat there. However, the foot court has a lot to be desired. It is very small and very crowded. We are staying at POR in a RGR next month. I am looking forward to trying something new and the pics of POR are soooo beautiful.

Thanks for the replies. We've always wanted to stay at Wilderness Lodge so I think I will go with that. Those Royal Rooms are so tempting, but that will give me another reason to return to WDW. :rotfl2:
