I stayed here when I was a little girl & still remember it. To me it was a very fancy hotel & since I was like 4 or 5 it must have been soo nice for me to remember it being that I am now almost 29. I was looking between Sheraton Safari & RPlaza for 2 nights as well. I didn't know SS was closing.

hi
sheraton has been bought out and a 25 million doller refurb starting now by all accounts, royal plaze looks great from the photos and in the area we like with all the resteraunts etc as we dont drive and looks like we can now walk to downtown aswell

Per Mary at Mousesavers, all the rooms have either a king or 2 doubles, plus a loveseat that folds out into a bed.

Please note that Royal Plaza has an $8.00 per night resort fee. Did SS charge a resort fee??? If not, is Virgin picking that up, or do you have to pay it?

i agree on the area is perfect! But I'm torn, now between a Disney value property & the RP b/c disney gives u free airport trans. What to do.

We stayed there in 2007 while they were renovating...it was after a long hiatus from WDW. We brought our dd just 5months old for a much needed LONG weekend. WE were VERY happy with the property. clean , neat, good location.

Well, RP is a lot nicer than any of the on-site value hotels. If you can get a good room rate, then you can put the saved money towards either a shuttle, town car or a car rental. I believe RP has a car rental desk there. You could do tow one way rentals (airport to RP and then RP back to airport).

Travelzoo.com has a link to a special for RP - $69 per night plus waiving the resort fee. Look in the Hotels - Orlando section.
