So sad. The pools will be closed for our stay. Too late to change resorts. Has anyone else heard this? I wish I had known. Not really interested in taking a shuttle bus to another hotel pool.:sad1:

You can easily walk to Hard Rock. It will take you about 10-15 minutes.

I know it's a pain, but you can take the boats all the way to Portofino Bay -- the castle pool there is amazine. Good luck. :goodvibes

Don't let the closed pool ruin your plans. We stayed at the HRH and purposely went to all the pools. It isn't that hard or time consuming. It does give you a chance to try something new. They are each beautiful and different in vibe.

You are only now finding out, I'm so sorry!

We don't check in until Dec 10, so of course only one day is affected, but we were sent an email about it on October 6th. What a bummer you didn't get the same email!

If we want to swim on the 10th, we'll just head to one of the other hotels; everything I've read says that they are pretty close to each other.

O.k we have been booked since september 1st and this is the first I have heard about it.!!!
I called and they were all "yup it's going to be closed" uggg
At least HRH was available and I switched to that.....I had been contemplating it anyhow. I also have been thinking of upgrading to Club.....I will decide at checkin on that!
I hear the pool at HRH is good though and it has a slide so it's all good!!

I must be a wimp. We just went to Royal Pacific last week and found it to cold to swim (of course that was at night...)

EVERYONE who had a reservation for that week at RPR was either told at their reservation time, OR was sent an email if they had made their reservation prior to the plans to close the pool so there is nobody that can say they didn't know. If you deleted the email, tough luck! The high last week was in the 60's, not nearly warm enough for swimming, and it was ridiculous how many people had the nerve to complain about it! There were some days it didn't even hit 60 until 4pm.

Well I was booked September 1st and NEVER got an email about the pool closure....not to my email address ever! We did though hear about it in time to change to the Hard Rock Hotel which I have to say was a dissappoinment. I kept hearing about how all 3 of these hotels were equivalent to a deluxe at Disney and that is so NOT true. I would say Hard Rock was equal to a moderate possibly but I still prefer that the mod's at Disney exit right to the outdoors and not an inside hotel corridor.
The pool also was just o.k. The pool slide was good but the pool depth was very dissappointing.
Anyhow......Not Everyone got that email sent to them.

it doesnt hurt to complain when you get there, you might get an upgrade of some sort.

We swam during our stay from the 10th-13th. Just once, and the water was WARM, but the getting out was miserable LOL. But then the weather got so bad they actually closed the entire pool area, which meant that our faboo shortcut (out of tower 3, into the pool area, across, out of the pool area, walk to the CityWalk!) was denied to us. Anyway, swimming was possible, and there were braver souls than we were, until they closed the pool entirely.

A place with outside corridors is a motel; inside corridors is a hotel. Inside corridors are safer, etc etc. And are generally on a higher level than a motel (motor hotel, meaning you can park outside your door...of course you can't really do that at a Disney moderate LOL).

you can pool hop

They did state that in the email, and we planned to try it out during our stay, but then realized that the hotels are spread out from each other! With it being so cold, we didn't feel like getting wet and chilled, then having to take a boat ride...

Situation is finished; the pool actually opened at 8am ON the 10th, not on the 11th as planned. So that was cool!
