Royal Pacific Luau?

Has anyone gone to the Wantilan Luau at Royal Pacific?

Any details/reviews on it?
What did you think of it? Is it worth it?

It's on Saturdays, and coincidentally also the date for the Natalie Cole holiday concert, so I may have to pick between them ...

Thanks!!!

I went to the Oct 3rd 2009 Luau at the royal pacific with my parents. It was really beautiful there. Nicer than expected. The food was really great. They had the whole pig and steak tips and a chicken dish, rice and all kinds of fish things that I avioded but i heard were delicious from everyone else eating them. there was pizza chicken fingers and mac n cheese also which was for the kids but I ate some...It was all you can eat and there was plenty to go around I had 2 plates and then some deserts which were mostly fruit type stuff. They never stopped filling the mai tais every time you took a sip.
the show was really good...similar to the show at the poly where they demonstrate all the different dances from the different islands and the fire dancing along with the usual hula lessons. The ladies were very beautiful. The band was good and sang all through the meal as well. It was 2 hours long exactly. I would definitely reccommend it over the Polynesian luau at WDW. Ive been to both and the food at the Poly luau was nothing special and the shows were about the same. It cost $52 per adult with assigned seats but none of the seats were far from the show. 10 people to a table so it helps to get friendly table mates.

I did it recently in late July.

Hope it helps you make your decision. I'd say if you've never tried it you should go once.

We registered for the Luau and watched hula dancers and a ukulele player while we waited for our table.

The luau took place under the cover of a pavilion with all tables facing a stage. We were seated promptly at 6:00 and could immediately help ourselves to the buffet. The buffet included rice, steak, mahi mahi, salads, chicken, pulled pork and carved pork straight from the suckling pig and a complete kid’s buffet. Virgin Mai Tais to drink were delicious. The food was pretty good for a dinner show. I especially enjoyed the white rice with ginger soy sauce. During dinner the band played Hawaiian songs. Desserts were plentiful and tasty including chocolate banana cake, white macadamia nut pie and mango cheesecake.

After dinner the luau began. It included a variety of hula dancers and fire juggling and audience participation and of course at some point the kids were on stage attempting the hula.

Overall it was a pretty good event and definately a unique treat for a vacation.

Thanks peeps!

It sounds really tempting to me (I am from a tropical country and if someone says roast pig I say gimme the ears!).
But rather expensive for 4 specially after getting free dining at wdw.

I shall have to ponder ...

We did it a couple of years ago. Food was excellent and plenty to choose from. tables sat 8 people or maybe 10 cannot really remember, we shared it with a couple of nice families, we ended up going and getting our own drinks as it was quite busy, and it was quicker. Show in my opinion was a lot better than Disneys, might go again next year after talking about it.
