We recently stayed at the Royal Pacific to celebrate our anniversary a little early. Upon check-in they wished us a happy anniversary but apologized as they had run out of the anniversary buttons to wear around the parks. (They directed us to customer service inside the park for buttons.)
After returning to the hotel after a long day in the parks, we were disappointed to hear the bass from someone's TV was so loud that it was rattling our AC grate. I texted the front desk and they offered to send someone up to investigate. The bass stopped soon after (around 10:30pm) so I declined having someone come up. The next morning, the bass started again at 6:15am! As I was unable to pinpoint exactly where it was coming from, we decided to stop by the front desk on our way to breakfast. The front desk staff was very sympathetic with the fact that we were there for three more nights. They told us they would look into moving us to a different room and that if we packed up our stuff before leaving for the park for the day, the bell hops would move it. We agreed, packed up and went to the park.
Upon returning to the hotel after another long day, we were instructed to stop at the front desk for new keys. You can imagine our surprise to find out they had upgraded us to the club level!
The next morning we decided to see what the club lounge had to offer for breakfast. We were happy with the selection that was available as it saved us some time and money compared to eating anywhere else.
The staff in the lounge was just amazing! Jilian went above and beyond to make us feel special. On our last night there, she asked us to stop by the lounge after our dinner reservations. So, after dinner we stopped in and were delighted to see that she had arranged to give us a bottle of wine, some mixed nuts, candy and a card signed by the lounge employees. We were extremely touched by this very thoughtful act. She is simply amazing and we will consider upgrading our next trip to the club level because of her.
We loved the Wok Experience at the Islands Dining Room and are surprised that it was not busier than it was. (Someone should start advertising this!) Our server (Eric W) was knowledgeable, friendly and very attentive to our needs. He had a very energetic attitude that was contagious (even getting the song he was singing stuck in our heads). At the end of our meal, he emerged from the back room with a "Happy Anniversary" balloon and tickets for two free in-room movies. He explained that he would normally give people wearing the anniversary buttons free desserts, but since the Wok Experience included dessert, he thought we might like movie passes better.
Everyone at the hotel made us feel so special. We never thought that we would get that much attention just from wearing the anniversary buttons. One of our favorite experiences was riding in the elevator with a young family. As we were leaving the elevator, the mom wished us a happy anniversary. He young son (maybe 5 years old or less?) immediately repeated his mom's wishes. Even though he couldn't quite pronounce "anniversary" it was the sweetest thing ever!
Another highlight of the trip was using the photo package. I would highly recommend it to anyone. In four days, we easily added almost 140 pictures to our account. Granted, some of them are duplicates but we both thought it was well worth it as we could finally get pictures of the two of us together without having to rely on asking some other guest to take our pictures.
We also go to meet Carole (Schumigirl) and Tom in the lounge our last morning there. It was nice to meet someone from the message boards that has been so helpful to us all!
