We are back from our recent DCL voyage to the Baltic. Prior to the trip, we spent 3 nights using DVC points at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington in London. I promised a report back so here we go.

The hotel is located in the Kensington area of London which is very swanky. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff could not have been more accomodating from proving us free eletrical converters to the concierge going above and beyond.

We had 2 rooms for our party of 4 (typical for London hotels) which cost me about 65 Points per night each. Note that I had about 900 points so this hardly made a dent in my 2010 allotment. The hotel is in the final phases of a large scale renovation to all the rooms. We stayed in rooms that had not yet received the upgrade but they were still very nice and roomy. Our stay included English Breakfast each morning (a value of aout 20 Pounds each)... If you wanted a different dish other than the full English Breakfast they would not charge extra... The food was very good. We did not have lunch, tea or dinner at the restuarants but most folks who did remarked well about it.

The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Underground station along the Circle Line so it is easy to get to Westminster.

Overall, we would recommend this hotel for a few nights in London if you have some additional points for your trip. The going room rate including breakfast is about 350 pounds per night.

Any questions, feel free to ask!

We treated our daughter and her husband to two nights there on their honeymoon in 2007 and they had wonderful things to say about it, too.
