Isn't that amazing! I can't remember what day I signed up. Heck I didn't even know if the old thread was still here. :)

We've some a long way since then with only a couple of bumps in the road. That's a great thing!

Hopefully after your trip (wahoooo on the count down, I'm still out there) you continue popping in on the RC thread and Disboards :)

Sent you a reply pm Parkersmomma!:wizard:

Thanks, Ive got you marked that you still want in. I've emailed everyone listed in the swap. So if someone forgot about us-it reminds them we are here, they are in the swap, and gives them an opportunity to let me know if they would like out due to a cancelled trip.

I'll pm you if your dates come open:thumbsup2

Ok. I've decided that instead of a trip report, I'm going to post random tips/experiences that I think all of you will enjoy and benefit from. (A trip report intimidates me!!!)

Here's a random tip for my fellow RC Swappers:

Do you know about the PARENT SWITCH?

The parent switch is where one parent (or adult friend) has to stay back with a child who is not big enough/or doesn't want to ride. Go to the beginning of the line and tell the attendant you need a parent switch ticket. Usually the whole family has to go so that the attendant can see the adult and child that are staying back. He will give that adult a special ticket.

After the riding adult is done, the other parent can go on. HERE'S THE GREAT PART: The next parent gets to bring 2 people and gets to go through the fast pass lane.

Couple this with a Fast Pass and you are golden!!! Virtually no wait!!

Here's how we did it:
We got our 4 fast passes (Me, DH, DD6, DD4) early in the day. Returned to the ride to use our FP.
DH used 3 FP and we got a parent switch (PS) ticket.
I stayed back with DD2
(DD2 and I pin trade, or eat ice cream, or shop a little - bliss!)
DH returns. I use PS and take DD6 and DD4 again! :cool1:
(You don't have to use the PS ticket right away. You can come back later. It's like a FP for 3!)

Now, we have 1 FP left which we either give away, or use later. Stay tuned for a Random Tip about FPs !!!

Just trying to keep us to the top!

Random Tip: FAST PASSES

OK. I assume we all know how to use Fast Passes (FP). If you don't, read up baby! Never, never wait in a 2 hour standby line. YIKES!

When you get a FP, the pass will say what time you can return to ride. There is a one hour window printed on the pass. So, for example, you can return between 11:15 and 12:15.

But did you know....
The FP is actually good any time AFTER the return time printed on the ticket!!! So, if your return time is 11:15, you can return and ride any time after 11:15. (The 12:15 time means nothing!). I asked so many people if they knew this - and no one did!

We used this strategy all day, every day for six days! We rarely rode a ride in the standby line (unless it was short). And combined FP w/ parent switch and my DD4 and DD6 rode their favorite rides several times with limited waiting.

Thanks for the reflections by Nelep.
We hope to take advantage of the rider switch, hearing how it actually worked, makes it easier to understand. Could you do it on any rides your DD2 didn't want to go on?
I'll be waiting for some more tips.popcorn::

You can do the switch on ALL rides that have a FP lane for sure

For rides that don't have FPs - just ask a CM. Usually the rides w/out FPs are for the little kids anyway. But some aren't - so just ask. Those CMs have all the answers!

now see to me...there should be a sticky of all NELEP's info for everyone on Disboards. SO many ppl could benefit from this.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with our thread! It's really beneficial!!

Think of it as BONUS for being a part of the RC swap. Shhhhhh! We don't want to tell everyone our secrets! :rotfl2:

OK I may be 'slow'. :rotfl: But I need clarification. (I've never used fastpass OR parent switch but am aware of both so want to make the most of 'em!)

So you get your fastpasses for everyone in the family. Return later and you say DH used 3. Is that 3 meaning one for him and one for each of your older girls? So when you go to the FP enterance, you tell the CM that you need PS tickets, right? So now you have 4 FP tickets and one PS ticket? So DH and the 2 older girls go on once. Then you still have YOUR FP ticket but you also have a PS ticket which allows you to take 2 people on with you? (Thus the reason you have the extra FP to give away...right??)

Why do they allow 2 xtra people to go on with the PS? (Just curious - not complaining at all!)

I envision my DD1 will not want to go on some things that my DD3 will want to go on. DD3 is fearless and the younger one is chicken to even go on the carousel at the mall. :confused3

EXACTLY! You got it!

Not sure why they let 2 people go back with the parent who waited, but that sure worked great for our family!

The rider swap allows you to go back with up to 3 people. That way, if you have children in your group, both parents can enjoy the ride with their children...not just ride alone. This is great for the kids. The kids get to ride the same ride twice with the wait time of once. Can't get too much better than that.

Also, I am pretty sure that the rider swap is only good for rides that have height requirements.

Post #10 now holds all of your tips. I think this is a great idea and having it in one post will be so beneficial to the upcoming swappers.

Thank you for sharing the tips with us!

If I didn't know better I'd say you have too much time on your hands! But we all know that's not true!

Thanks for combining my random thoughts. More to come.
