Royal carriage swap-#1 STROLLER-MISSING-FOUND-MISSING AGAIN

Maddi - the tear isn't too large and none of the padding is coming out yet. I think as long as it is patched it will be fine and can easily last another several months. I'm hoping to download my pics tonight so I'll sort through them to see if I can find any that show the tear. I truly think that if someone can take a fabric patch with them and place that over the tear, then I think it will be fine. We didn't notice any other issues with it.

When I picked up RC 4 at the Grand Floridian, the bellman noticed that the storage bag was ripped. He told me that they have a service they could send it out to and have it repaired. I didn't get any other details, but perhaps the GF could help? Just an idea. Then you wouldn't have to pay to ship it home.

That's great to know! Perhaps the other resorts can help out with that as well. Although who knows how much they'd charge to "send it out to repair". Still, could be worth looking into. I would rather pay more- up to the $31 a one day rental would cost- so that I KNOW when I get the stroller it is in good repair. I would truely hate to be in Disney and have the stroller break so that I have to rent or buy one. I am depending on having a reliable stroller as I budget for my trip and would be so disappointed to have a major problem.

Let's all kick in a little more money so everyone has a stroller in good condition.

Usually the outgoing swapper takes the stroller to the incoming swapper's resort. You should PM the swappers before and after you and make arrangements. Do this at least 3 weeks before the incoming date of the swapper before you.

Deifinitely increase the price! Almost all of the other swaps are at least twice as much as the Royal Carriage swap!!!!

I would be willing to kick in a little extra to have a stroller that is in good shape and dependable. Now for the tear in the seat if someone who is going down could go to Wal Mart and pick up a product called liquid stitch it is clear an will repair the seat like nothing happened also would probably repair the tear in the storage bag as well this stuff is incredible and I use it all the time on all sorts of fabric. Just a thought let us know if you need another check....

I agree...even starting now with new swappers, sort of grandfather those already in (unless they want to send more). Increase it to $20. It's still 2/3 the cost of a one day rental at WDW and you are getting a better stroller.

Me too. I agree. I don't mind sending more $ to get a stroller that in in good condition. I am signed up for #1 and I am a little concerned...

Someone posted a couple pages ago about a cup holder....If it would be okay I will purchase it for #1 if the OP thinks it would be okay.

ok...I am in tears over this. I recieved this message today and once again currently on the phone. Calling all the resorts trying to locate the stroller.

Hey maddi, I went to Port Orleans Riverside three times and luggage services could not find the stroller #4. I've spent about 6 hours on the phone trying to find it and I cant seem to get ahold of blmcnally. She was the swapper before me and was supposed to leave it at POR. We got #3 yesterday and it is very hard to steer and it sure looks in very poor condition for being the newer of the strollers. #2 is great, is steers easily and is light. Much easier to use than #3.

I'm so upset, this is the same person who lost #5. She never answered any of my calls on #5 nor did she ever return a call to DebraW76 as far as I know.

I just got off the phone with msreneau and she said both #3 and #5 are extremely hard to push. She feels it is the tire pressure so hopefully that is all it is. Luckily, the are tire pumps with two of the four stoller she has.

At this point...I'm up in arms what to do. I could just write off number four since I just replaced it but it totally upsets me that someone would have such disreguard for the strollers and the swappers after her. She left before I purchased the new #4, so she doesn't even know about the new one. Plus #4 was repairable, which means I would have had a back up incase a stroller began damaged or missing...so no one would be without.

I hate being preachy but in three weeks---less than three weeks 4 of our strollers have went missing because of uncaring swappers or had issues. I hate bumps in the road when they are clearly avoidable.

As for RC1, we will have a rental car so if we need to run to Walmart and buy a patch we will. I also will have handy DH and a handy mother, so hopefully we can come up with something.

That would be great if you could. I'm on a mad rush to locate #4. if anyone has suggestion...please put them out there. I've 1/2 through the resorts and still no stroller.

That really stinks. Here we are, all working together (under the delicate care of Parkers*Momma) to help eachother save $$ and someone is so selfish to completely disregard those who have worked so hard to save her lots of $$$$. With 2 strollers no less.

It's kind of sad. We put our faith in one another, and we all hope that the swappers before/after us are as trustworthy as we would want them to be. And fortunately, most of us are. But, one bad apple...!

Maddi, I wish you all the luck trying to find this stroller. You're doing a great job...one that many of us would never want to take on. I hope you know how much we all appreciate what you're doing.

Yet another stroller gone missing!!! To put it frankly, that sucks!!!

Maddi, I wish you the best of luck and patience in trying to locate it, you are a much better person then I. It is so unfortuate that someone cannot take the time to do what they said they would and follow directions. Accidents can happen but twice. Shocking.

As for the price of swapping, I know I wouldn't mind paying more. $10 for a week's use of a good stroller is a steal. And how most swaps seem to work the stroller is waiting at your resort and you just need to drop it off for the next swapper. I see that as an opportunity to investigate another possible vacation.

My fingers are crossed that it is merely tire pressure with the two strollers that don't seem up to par, that you find the missing one sooner then later, and that the saftey pin doesn't rust!!

Very much looking forward to the opportunity of using RC1.

Sorry to hear about the missing stroller!! IMO this person (blmcnally?) should not be allowed to join anymore stroller swaps on the DIS at all. That is completely careless and disrespectful. In fact, any swapper that doesn't follow your clearly stated rules the first time should be banned from future swaps. Just my 2 cents...

I have already sent you $20 in the mail for my part of the swap. I hope you've received it or will shortly. Even at that price it is a steal, but I do agree with some others that I would rather the strollers be replaced sooner than later so that incoming swappers wouldn't have to worry about duct-taping, mending, safety pinning them back together.

We should all try to do a face-to-face if possible to avoid some of these problems!

Anyway. Once mitunes75 arrived, he was suppose to pick up the stroller at FW where Nelep left it for him. But he has a friend who works at WDW who gave him the use of a free stroller while he was there. He called BLMCANALLY to tell her that if she wanted the stroller earlier it was at FW. In the mean time, I get a call on the 8th saying that mitunes75 (he was suppose to pick it up on the 6th) hadn't picked up the stroller. He calls me right back and says that it is going to be picked up that night. 3 days leter Debra gets a call saying that that stroller #5 isn't where it was suppose to be. Both of us are on the phone...Me calling Mark. Debra calling BLMCANALLY to see where the stroller is. Mark called me right back and it seems that BLMCANALLY is the one who picked up the stroller at FW. I in turn call BLMCANALLY and her Dh to find out which stroller they have. Nothing-no returned calls. Debra is calling her and as far as I know...nothing for her also. So I tell debra about her not picking up #5 at all and maybe it is at her resort. I call there...nope. Then we got to brainstorming and Debra called POP and yep the stroller was there. Wahoooo. Debra found #5. so that swap is back on track. Saturday, BLMCANALLY was to take stroller (#4) to POR for msreneau to pick up. Nothing when she arrived. She was there again yesterday...nothing. We have called (me three times POR, POFQ, POP (incase of a typo) and AS MOVIES---Nelep has called them once) and the stroller is no where. I called and left voice messages for both her and her DH. Hopefully I will be hearing from them soon. The long the stroller is missing the less likely it will be found.

OK...does anyone else see something I might have missed? If it is her first time, she might have accidently took it to the wrong resort...but which one? There are 22 resorts.

I don't know....hopefully a return call comes soon. Or I will start calling all over again tomorrow.

Ok, as soon as I figure this out (hopefully) I will contact her again. We have 10 weeks so I can almost promise you won't be without a stroller. Gives me plenty of time to see if she still wants in or get a new swapper. That is prime time when you are going.

Maybe they left it in a rental car maybe call the car rental agencies on property at the Orlando airport. I did not see WL on your list. I am so sorry this is such a pain for you.

I totally agree. It's just plain rude and tacky to not do things as agreed upon. It's bad enough to send someone on a wild goosechase trying to find a stroller but on top of that, the incomming swapper is spending their first day or so in complete stress and spending more time looking for a stroller than in playing at Disney. Not cool at all!

I'm not going till December but I have had no luck in getting a response from the person before me either. I'm a bit concerned, to be completely honest. I can honestly say that my DH will flip a gasket if we have to spend ANY time hunting down a stroller. I'll never hear the end of it and it would put a huge damper on the entire memory of the trip. He's NOT the type to 'go with the flow' when plans change, trust me. So I'm really a bit worried about how things are going to pan out.

In anycase, in regards to the bad steering - I do hope the tire pressure is all that's wrong!

Maddie - you're a saint for all the hassles you have to deal with for these swaps. And Nelap you're awsome to be helping, too - especially since your trip is already over! I wish you all luck in finding it! Oh and I agree - maybe the rental car? Or maybe they left it at one of the parks?? Did you check DTD? Maybe they dumped it there?? Is there a central location for lost and found at DTD or even a water park??
