We are deciding whether or not to go to WDW again in Jan 2010.

We would prefer to go round trip from MSP on Suncountry or Airtran. I am hesitant to book with Airtran because of their frequent changes. Suncountry also has good fares right now but to book with them would mean our kids would miss a couple extra days of school as we would have to fly mid week to get the best deal.

We would really prefer to go Jan 23-30.

Now my question is this. What are the pros and cons of booking a roundtrip with one airline vs booking two one way tickets on 2 different airlines?

Has anybody ever done this? Experiences?

Thanks in Advance.

There are no pros or cons. We do this alot to get the flight times. We are flying NW on 10/21 from msp to orlando and Sun country back on 11/15.

the only beware I have for you is that airtran luggage max size is 61 inches and the others are 62. I seriously got charged $40 because my bag was one inch too big! talk about angry!

I would be MUCH more hesitant of booking Sun Country than Air Tran. Sun Country flies 3 times per week to Orlando. If you miss your flight or (worse) if it is canceled it may take days to get to Orlando.

Sun Country flies to MCO 7 days a week starting in October. I believe its just for the summers when they cut back!

I would so totally book 2 one ways if the fare/times were better!

We booked 2 different airlines/one way tickets for our upcoming trip -- SW on the way down to MCO and USAirways back home. We did it to get the best price we could. At least on the way home we can check in our bags at the resort and we know we will be sitting together/already have our seats assigned.

Here's hoping it works out well.:flower3:

OP here! :)

Thought I would just drop in and let you know what our decision was!

January 26 - Feb 2 (mid week flights) Return trip airfare! $153r/t pp = $611 Cd roundtrip from MSP to MCO!! Suncountry rocks!!!! The girls teachers will just have to deal! :)

Last year we flew air tran down and jet blue back

In jan we fly sw down and air tran back

More flexible really... under $1k for the four of us
