Has anyone else done this? I can't think of any reason why there could be problems doing this, but I've never done it before.

The best time and price for our trip from Boston to Orlando is on Delta. On the way back, it's American Airlines.

Any reason why I should not book each leg of the trip on a different airline??

Thanks :)

The most typicaly reason is price, with roundtrip tickets often costing less than two one-way tickets, but if that isn't the case, I don't see anything wrong with taking one airline out and one airline home.

Hi There~

I have done it many times, & plan on doing again, in Feb 2006 & Nov 2006

No problems, book save & enjoy.

You are usually subject to extra scrutiny going through security but other than that no reason not to do the two one ways.

I have done it before, flown down on Jet Blue and then home on Song, it was no big deal. The price wasn't that much of difference, the schedule was just better for me.

I just did that for my mom when she came to visit. She flew here on Air Tran and returned on Delta. She did not have any problems.

When I worked for Expedia, itineraries like this were complicated...

If you're booking each individual flight seperately (say through the airlines themselves) , there shouldn't be any problem. Neither airline really has a clue you'll be flying on someone else to get there or to get back.

If you're booking through a company like Expedia (which is the only one I can safely speak of knowledgably) things get tricky-- and problems can arise.

If you ARE booking through Expedia, feel free to PM me and I'll elaborate on what sorts of problems I ran into with itineraries like that..
