I have had such a terrible hour!
First, right after school I called the state office in charge of our "section 125" money, the money that comes out of the check pre-tax for medical expenses. I needed to know how much exactly I had taken out this year--I thought it was $900. Well, it is $216--$9 a check!!
So I walked over to the payroll person at the school board. Yes, she changed my total. I had written "900" in the section that actually the school board was supposed to write in and didn't write anything in the "per check" section. She said since she didn't see a decimal point she assumed it was 9 dollars a check.
I was allowed
rolleyes: ) to change the amount per check to $40 per check for the rest of the enrollment period--17 pays--which will end up around $850 total, but I borrowed $900 from my mom for DD's braces and now I'll have to pay her back in installments.
The worst thing, however, was on the way to the school board (it is right next to the school) I tripped at the end of our wheelchair ramp. Put a hole in my pants and really skinned the heck out of my knee. Laid there a minute on top of my bookbag and then some kids saw me crying and helped me up. And now that I"m home I noticed that the paperwork for that section 125 thing fell out of the bookbag--and one paper was filled out with my name, address and SS# so I have to hope no one interested in identity theft finds it. I also lost the receipt for her braces and need to get a new one.
It's gotta be all uphill from here, right?
