Right, I've been trying to figure out whether it would be worth getting a Dream AP or not. It would just be for one person as we're going to assume just for calculations sake that EMH is being continued after 15 year celebrations and so only need AP for discounts. We stay onsite at Cheyenne, so all this is booked on that

Cost normally (based on last visit and upcoming visit) for 5 nights, 6 days
£414 hotel (includes tix)
£600 spending
£300 food

TOTAL £1314

Cost with AP
£75 AP (works out at £150 but as we'll be making 2 trips a year it is £75 a trip)
£373 hotel (10% discount as per website info)
£480 spending
£270 food
£157 ticket for oh (1x 5 day @ £116 + 1x1 day @ £41)
£270 tickets for kids (2x 5 day @ £99 + 2x1 day @ £36)

TOTAL £1579

Cost booking a package + rest with AP
£75 AP
£414 hotel + tickets
£480 spending
£270 food

TOTAL £1239

Surely that can't be right, can someone please confirm that it is and that I've not missed anything out or got anything wrong please?

Also this is all based on 15th anniversary stays, so does anyone have any ideas how I can work this out for a normal year? Eg how they calculate the cost of hotels etc when you have to pay for children and stuff.

Sorry for being such a pain and thanks for all your help.

Sounds about right. You could cut costs to £105 for OH tickets by buying a Fantasy AP, same with the children (£210)

So
£373 Hotel
£480 Spending
£270 Food
£105 Fantasy Pass for OH
£210 Fantasy passes for kids

Total = £1438 a saving of £141

AP's will not usually work out cheaper if staying onsite. All depends on when you go and also if you get the 10% standard of 30% on certain dates with the Fantasy Pass.

It could be right.

A couple of things though.
The 10% room price you've assumed is based on 10% of the package price - it should be cheaper than that (for example, my package price with Disney direct would be £203, the room only price with 10% AP discount at the same hotel is £111). So its not based on 10% of the package price.

Also, instead of buying park tickets for your DH and children(if appropriate) x 2 trips, it would be cheaper buying Fantasy APs for them too (£105 each for a Fantasy pass, giving you park access for 12 months).

Cool, thanks, but it still looks cheaper to go for Dream AP for me and not use it for the hotel. Instead book the hotel as a package as if no AP and just use the AP for discounts etc. That's what confused me as this only works out to be £1239, plus I'd still get cashback too. Strange I think :confused3 Plus I would have an extra 6 day park hopper ticket, because I wouldn't need my one that came with the package so could sell that on ebay perhaps? Or is it only valid for the time you are there?

If you're planning on doing this, then have you thought about the shareholders club? That seems to give similar benefits to the Dream AP, but costs a lot less than a dream AP if you go for the 5 share / 30 euro every 2 years option.

I hadn't thought about that, thanks for mentioning it. Is there a link or a website you could point me in the direction of for more info on this please?

I think the address is corporate.disneylandparis.com/shareholders/index.xhtml, but I can't check because I can't get there at the moment for some reason. That should list all the benefits though.

The current share price is about 8.44 euros and can be checked here

At that share price, it would be 72.20 euros for the first 2 years - about 1/4 the price of 2 years worth of Dream AP I think.

Just to complicate things further Cookie,

I know your costs are based on buying park tickets for each duration of stay. So remember, if you buy APs instead for all your family, you won't have the cost of any park tickets to factor in to your 2nd (and 3rd) visits within a year.

Thanks for that. I've just had a quick browse will have a proper look in a minute.

Just wondering though, their discount says 15% off park passports, so would that allow me to buy the whole families tickets with 15% off or just my own?

Sorry, being a pain again :guilty: which kind would I want to buy and do you have any idea how I would get in touch with these people? Is there somewhere I can buy the shares online? Or is there a phone number I have to call? Thanks a lot.

If you stay onsite and have a fantasy pass can you still benifiet from EMH?

It doesn't matter what kind of park ticket/AP you have if you stay onsite - its staying onsite (the hotel ID that you get when you check in) that gives you access to EMH.

There's a couple of posts on here about this, but I can't find them right now...

I knows there's a website which people often use, or I believe you can get them through one of the banks / building societies. I'm currently at the looking into it stage, so I don't actually know which shares, but there's plenty of people on these boards who own shares and are members of the shareholders club, so hopefully one of them will be able to help :)

Cool thanks for that. I had a look on here, but couldn't see anything, I think I'm just not going back far enough. Thanks for all the info though, I'm sure I'll find it.

i just went onto selftrade, and searched for euro disney, and its the ones at about 8 euros each that u want!!
still waiting on my card, but i know its all been received!!
i think that if u cant make lots of holidyas, the shareholders certainly helsp make the holidays u can get, a lil cheaper!

Thanks for all your help everyone. After talking it through with oh I think we're going to go for the shares instead of the AP, so thank you all for all for all your help, you've been great :thumbsup2
