Hi Everyone!

We’re going to stay at a Disney resort on the day we’re flying in with a morning flight, and I’m wondering the best way to book ROTR. Since I haven’t been since FastPass and ROTR has a different way to book, it’s unclear to me what my options are. Will I be able to make a request in the morning, and can I get an afternoon time? Thanks a ton!

Hello, so the 2 options to ride RotR right now is the standby line or to pay for the Individual Lightning Lane pass.

If you choose to purchase the ILL$ pass, you will need to be on the Disney app right at 7am as they sell out quickly. With these passes, you are able to select a specific time.

The Genie+ package, the other type of Lightning Lane pass does not allow you to select a time, but that only affects you if you're buying that for the rides included in that package.

Thanks, this is helpful to me too. Our flight leaves at 8:15 am, so presumably I'll be up anyway and can be on the app at 7 to purchase the ILL. We should be in the park around 2 pm, so I'm guessing I can try and purchase a ride time for that time or later on the same day, even outside the park/state.

Thanks! It sounds then like right at 7 I should try to get my late afternoon time and then a bit later in the day try Genie+ selections since they won’t be to afternoon at start.

Yes, and I forgot to mention earlier, you do have to be staying at a Disney hotel in order to book at 7. As long as you are, when you click on the purchase option, you can choose the hour and then 15 minute intervals. There are times where the time you select books up before you finish checking out, so double check the time after you complete checkout to know for sure what time your pass is for.

Some actually could be to afternoon then or very soon after, so I would still do genie plus at 7 am or just keep refreshing till time goes later. SDD I’m hearing goes quick. That way you can also do another 2 hrs after park open to stack for later. I would not wait to start this process or you’ll be left without those.like Millennium Falcon ride
